Grrl Power#19 – BYO Laugh Track
Have a comic!
This is the same girl high fiveing Sydney in strip 3. That doesn’t matter now but it’s a safe bet she’ll show up again.

LOL nice Dave nice that was really funny if you have have the urge to make side comics im voing this be your first stop as i think their story is a story worth telling
Half-brother and full cousin, should be. Dammit, I hate being that guy. Not a half-cousin unless the twins somehow managed to be half-sisters… which is conceivably possible, but would require IVF.
Hmm. I guess that’s true. I probably ought to update that.
And fixed.
Well, that, or their conception was even weirder and kinkier. Assuming they’re fraternal, which is the only way that’s possible.
I know I’m way late to the party but wouldn’t they still technically be full brother and sister genetically? unless of course their mothers were fraternal twins.
You think YOU’RE late to the party? And you are correct, tho they look like they’re identical twins.
legally, they are half sisters. In part due to inheritance laws.
And yes, it’s come up IRL.
I am now curious and terrified to look up that court case.
Whenever an inheritance case goes to court, they seem to get nasty.
yes park water and sexo
On the second to last panel do I have it right in saying the closest 2 are sisters and the farthest one is their father. Also the closest 2 are they the mothers of the 2 youngest looking ones with black hair and their father is also the father of them.
Any way that is how I am reading it so want to make sure I am reading into it correctly.
Yeah it’s a flash back to “an indeterminate time ago” so you’re reading it right.
oh a redneck family huh?
Are you a Jeff Foxworthy fan?
I’m; actually really not, and in fact both of the kids are kind of sporting a Mediterranean heritage, apparently thanks to dad, though I guess every region has it’s equivalent of “redneck.” I really only drew them that way because in page 3 when I originally drew Olivia (the girl) she had black hair, and when l went to color her skin I didn’t want to use the same palette I was using on Sydney so she wound up kind of olive colored, so hey, now she’s a gypsy or something. And that’s why things work out the way they do sometimes. Arbitrary palette choices.
Neat! I like these character designs. But…
Where is the salt?,/i>
It’s uh… obviously by Grandma who is sitting just off panel there in that second to last cell.
I seriously need to get better and much faster at drawing backgrounds.
Or it’s like my place, no salt shaker on the table.
We have pepper and Garlic and herb. NO SALT.
That’s kind of amusing :) I had a similar situation, except that my mom and her sister traded husbands… Awkward.
And what a sit-com it would be.
talk about your double milfs
try my family my neice is older then me and made me a great aunt
Well if you’re going to be an Aunt, be a great one. :)
I was a great aunt at 2 years old. It really bites being the very very very very very baby in the family. >.>
when your 16 and your neice anouces she’s pregent give me a call
well my neice is 5 years younger then me and shes getting hitched come this may so i have no doubt i;ll be upgraded to the ranks for great uncle very soon , but then if be some crazy cosmic happenstance like with the half sister and brother here, we produced a child it was recive half of each of our greatness and become super that would be kinda awesome, but look on the bright side angie at least your parents didntor havent separte then your dad remarry a younger woman and you mom a younger man and then they both have a child with that person at the same time you have your child and and all three kids grow up together but your new brothers and or sisters lord it over your kids head that they are thier uncle or aunt
Ok so her dad had twins with her dad’s wife’s sister but were raised by her parents so in that sense her brother is also her dad’s wife’s sister’s son making him a full cousin. And by the same logic she is also a full cousin to herself. And since they both come from the same womb (at the same time even) then they are full siblings not half. To be a half sibling one must be the child of the father but not mother and the other the other way around. Am I right or do I need a picture of their family tree?
Please ignore my own comment. I had it explained to me: the dad’s wife and the dad’s wife’s sisters are twins not the two kids. So like everything I said doesn’t work anymore.
i think grandma very much has the potential to be the funniest character in the comic so far. however since she will likely never appear after this flash back that will most likely change. But honestly some one who uses a laugh track at family meals, how can you be more fun than them?
And lo, for the the first time since its conception, a laugh track was actually FUNNY.
Huh, so, its like a polyamore house hold…with out the amore?
Only between the siblings :P
So… what was his wedding like?
No matter how youslice it it was undoubtly equal parts epic and akward
I don’t think that polygamy is legal even in Utah these days, so they probably live in one house but no one is married. It would be particularly awkward if you were married to one of them but not the other. “This is my wife, and this is… my live in mistress slash sister in law.”
Doesn’t stop them from having a ceremony anyway. A marriage (relationship) and a marriage license (state recognized certificate of marriage granting legal privileges) are two different things. Most people seem to confuse the two though.
Yeah, youve got people that have a wedding without ever realizing marriage licenses are even a thing…
Okay, man. I have to say one thing. You draw spectacular arms. May be a odd thing to notice, but so many people skimp on the details. I love the details. I am what you call a detail obsessive.
Obsessive.
Stare.
Thanks! It’s been a challenge for me since I usually draw much more muscular characters. Trying to slim people down to realistic proportions seems to make me draw the heads too big I think, but I’m glad you like what I’m doing so far.
Well, there is what I’ve done to my brother’s character in my Scion game.
He’s a son of Athena (adopted) and he left his biological parentage up in the air. Early he discovered that his biological mother is Circe, and thought that Circe must have given him up, because a divine parent has to allow adoption by another, despite still being interested.
Then it turned out that his biological father is Ares. (Circe by the game, is an independent Titanspawn rather than a goddess)
Add to this that he’s now married to one of his followers, who is pregnant with his child due to circumstances on Circe’s island.
As to the coming child, she’s the reincarnation of a little girl that the character tried to save from a tommy-gun death when they were both in a Chicago orphanage (WWII era game) and ALSO the reincarnation of a daughter of Amaterasu who was a nominal enemy but sacrificed her life so they would have a chance to stop Pan from releasing the Titans. Said daughter of Amaterasu eventually reincarnated as the aforementioned little girl at the same time as her soul was coming into existence the first time as a daughter of Amaterasu, so the soul was split in half until now, when it gets to be reborn in one body.
Also, said daughter of Amaterasu is descended from Pan due to her grandmother.
Finally there are two prophecies related to her:
“The Cat’s Paw makes the decision to spill the blood of She Who Was Not Saved”
“…must be stopped by the soul of the descendant of Pan’s get.”
add to that that my brother plays his character as the overprotective type….
hee hee
that guy is my hero!
Yeah, not only did he sleep with them both but he appears to have been able to maintain a relationship with them to :P
And that is the important part.
And he is there for the kids.
Very neat publish. I just stumbled upon your blog and wished to say that I have really favored studying your blog posts. Anyhow I’ll be subscribing to your weblog and I hope you post once more quickly!
This got me interested, and I looked it up… Olivia and Tony could be considered “three-quarter siblings”. If their respective mothers happen to be *identical* twins, then Olivia and Tony would be genetically equivalent to full siblings (since the twins would be genetically equivalent to each other, and thus could be considered the same person for the purpose of determining how closely Olivia and Tony are genetically related).
Interesting… we’ll see these guys again at some future point, stuff like this will probably come up.
You know what would be even more interesting than “half-twins” with different mothers from a three-way? Half-twins from different fathers from a three-way. They’d have to be fraternal, of course, but wouldn’t it be something if a woman dropped two eggs and they were fertilized by the sperm of different men?
And you know what would be more interesting than that? A fourway in which one of the women had fraternal half-twins, and then one of the two fathers also impregnated the other woman. And the two children who have no genetic material in common even though they share a common half-twin were of different sexes, and they ended up falling in love and having to explain that they’re not actually related even though they have a common twin sibling (half-sibling), and…yeah, I’m really weird, I know.
so…which on is he married to? lol onless both
if this was an actual sitcom i would watch it, sounds better than 2 1/2 men
two of three of my cousins are half siblings and cousins too. all are half siblings one girl is a cousin to her brother, the other girl is just a half sibling. My aunt left one brother for some guy out west only to leave him for the other brother…. if that makes any sense at all.
Awkward and yet…not entirely unpleasant…
I have a couple of half-aunts about 1 1/2 years older than I am. When I spoke at my grandma’s remembrance last year, I pointed out the fine dividing line. I was her oldest grandchild. This comic makes me feel positively normal.
My brother and I used to tease one of the half-aunts when she got uppity. We would smile and say “Yes, Auntie Melody!” For greatest effect, in front of her friends.
Been a reader since Sydney maced the world in #30, and just now noticing there’s a comments section. I gotta say that growing up with this would turn me off of sitcoms forever. More than I already have been, I mean.

it looks like Olivia is the same woman in the game with Sidney back on page 3.
Iv read all the pages first to more current but i still feel like im missing something… =T
I’ve been wondering this for a while, why doesn’t Olivia have any food? The adults all have full meals and Tony has a small plate of …green, while Olivia doesn’t even have silverware.
i still say there house when they were kids would make a great Omake/spinoff
It’s like 2 and a half men onky with two chicks he got pregnant.
It’s like 2 and a half men only with two chicks he got pregnant.
Wow. Not only did that guy hook up, knock up and shack up with a pair of hot twins, but he did it a that pair of radar dishes on the sides of his head. Even Prince Charles has smaller ears than that.
Lucky bastard. I love that deadpan expression on his face too, as though nothing can shock him any more…..
Was Olivia a bad girl, is that why she has no plate and no food?
The mind boggles as to how here deals with their, err… ‘time of the month’.
He. Damnit autocorrect.
About a month ago, a guy posted to the tifu subreddit with a story about a foursome that made me think of this page.
The sisters look very familiar for some reason. Are they a cameo from another webcomic?
No, just made them up for this page, but they might have been influenced by whatever I was reading at the time.
