Grrl Power #986 – Smoosh is in the air
Just to make sure all the text on this page is fully legible, I’m going to post this page over at Patreon so everyone can see the double size version.
For some reason, I decided to include two different pages on this page. I don’t usually do color coded word bubbles, so hopefully this all makes sense and you guys can follow along. I had actually considered doing character specific word bubbles when I started the comic, but I’m really glad I decided against it for a few reasons. For one, back before I started, I read a lot of webcomics – some were good, most were people who had some funny ideas or had some interesting stories to tell, but weren’t the best artists. Not that a comic has to have impeccable art necessarily, but there is a threshold of acceptability I think, and that includes not just the art, but also stuff like coherent sequential storytelling skills, layouts and design. There were definitely a few webcomics I gave up on because the artist decided to put black “monster text” over bright red word bubbles (note that I use a fairly legible bold font for Tom and put it over more of a creamy red/red/orange instead of a blinding rose red) or they would use some fancy script font in all caps. If I’d started the comic with character specific word bubbles, I would have felt obligated to use unique combinations of fonts and colors for every single person. There’s only so many properly legible combinations, and somewhere around page 300 I’d be putting teal lettering over bright orange bubbles using a sound effects font for “Barista #3” and honestly it would become an absolute eyesore and really, there’s only a few cases where it would even be helpful. It’d be a TON of extra work to keep track of and not that many readers would even pay attention to it, (Not everyone even realizes Sydney’s orbs slowly orbit her from panel to panel) and if I tried to do something clever like having a shapeshifter using the wrong text/color combination, I’m guessing like 5% of people would get it, 15% would think I messed up, and no one else would notice.
So that’s why I don’t do it. Usually.
And yes, the final panel is supposed to say “Marital Arts,” not “Martial Arts.”
Tamer: Enhancer 2 – Progress Update:
Nothing to report unfortunately. Was working on the vote incentive thing.
October’s vote incentive is up! This is a redraw of a comic I did in 2011 I think, but never published. I had originally pictured the comic going through an establishment phase, and then taking occasional breaks from the storylines for little one-off moments like these. Which I guess I could still do. I just got wrapped up in the story telling and forgot.
So Dabbler and Sydney are up late one evening on night watch but Dabbler has just discovered Cinemax…
Nude version is up at Patreon, as is the original version of this page.
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like.
My only critique would be to make Maxima and Sydney’s word bubbles a little more different in color, I know not many colors can have a black text on still be legible, maybe a light blue or pink for Sydney.
Also maybe a small color key or their names in tiny print beside the first of each bubble.
I vote for little chibi heads.
Seconded.
#CHIBIARMY
Yeah, I like this idea.
Why not just use their choker colours?
Some of them share colours
Ya, I had to reread that twice to parse it.
I think a paler yellow would actually work better for Sydney. Goldenrod works well for Max, but that brownish yellow was gross for Sydney. Make it pale instead and that should make for better separation.
The text bubble point to someone something. Just make the OUTLINE (always black now) the same color as what it points to it points to the hair.. same as hair coloursame as shirt same as skin colour… whatever the pointer points to.
That outline does not make it more or less readable, and you don’t have to keep track over multiple pages.
So… what about those armies of his? Was he even serious about the threat to invade, or was that just demonic cultural traditions? “Always make a threat when you show up; it shows them that you respect them enough to take them seriously.”
Strength is power, Strength is respect. That is the way of the demon.
Experienced her strength first hand (maybe he thought the attack that took down the Fel ship was a spell or weapon that took time to charge), so now he respects Maxima.
Tom: ”Sorry I acted rude but it’s union rules. Only the demons in marketing are allowed to be polite.”
Ha ha :)
Tom: “And the ones who make deals. But they’re sort of desperate; they’ll make deals with anyone and everyone, even roaches if they offered. Nobody likes them anyway.”
Tom: ”Everyone agreed that the jerks at Demon Resources should stop smiling but it turns out they will explode if they can’t laugh when firing a demon.”
Agreed, even after an abrupt body slam shaking up the conversation, it seems like they’ve all completely forgotten it happened and are now just casually bantering about Dabbler. Presumably while the ladies are still standing on his face.
Well, early comic suggested that Dabbler and Tom have been here in the ancient past, so those armies could just as easily be real while existing beside demon highschool.
It was never implied where they last met, but highly likely not Ancient Dirt (Dabbles isn’t that old, believe she mentioned something about 126, or thereabouts? definitely less than 200)
The cast page has her at 187. I thought the number was higher… but that was probably the number of languages she knows.
Thank you
I didn’t even notice the color difference when Dabbler suddenly mentioned Sydney. What gave it away for me was that ‘Max’ was suddenly talking very unlike herself. That’s when the quarter dropped.
Love how Maxima asked Tom ‘was she alwaysd like this?’
Yeah, was wondering if mini-Maxi wore glasses when she wasn’t running track
The world conquering talk last page got me thinking,
what if the things that took out the Alari home world left behind a probe as a territory claim; and they actually recognized Sydney’s orbs as tech from a rival cosmic species and thought she was a “claim jumper” so attacked in force to drive her off their claim.
They definitely were able to scan something about the orbs, which makes them a lot more advanced than Dabbler at least. And their reaction implies they know something specific about the tech.
Not necessarily. The scan yielded some information, but the information may have just been the knowledge that the scanner can’t touch them. If those orbs are effectively the only kind of thing they can’t scan, then if they’ve seen the like before, The scan comes back blank and they go into panic mode.
Somebody could be going “HOLY SHIT IT’S SOMEBODY WITH THOSE UNSCANNABLE BALLS! LIKE THAT GUY WHO HANDED THE WHOLE FIFTH FLEET THEIR ASSES FIVE HUNDRED YEARS AGO!”
Their response doesn’t really indicate they were able to scan any information directly from the balls. But if they can’t, their response indicates for sure that they are alarmed by the fact that they can’t.
“The scan yielded some information, but the information may have just been the knowledge that the scanner can’t touch them”
No, there was clearly an actual READING from TWO of the orbs
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-641-well-thats-probably-not-good/
(panel 8)
One was the orb which Sydney was currently using, which is more than Dabbler could get. The other is the ‘unknown orb’ which Sydney was NOT touching, and no one knows what it does. The other orbs were all ‘blank readings.’ Which might mean that the unknown orb has a function which is always active (or at least is active when any other orb is being used).
And immediately upon getting some sort of reading from those two orbs, it IMMEDIATELY decides to call down the mothership for an attack and focuses ALL of its beams entirely on Sydney and her orbs. If they couldnt read ANYTHING from the orbs at all, I don’t think they would have become so focused on Sydney. Dabbler had put up some sort of shield during the scan, and they didnt focus on her.
“Somebody could be going “HOLY SHIT IT’S SOMEBODY WITH THOSE UNSCANNABLE BALLS! LIKE THAT GUY WHO HANDED THE WHOLE FIFTH FLEET THEIR ASSES FIVE HUNDRED YEARS AGO!””
That’s possible, but they WERE able to scan two of the orbs.
“Their response doesn’t really indicate they were able to scan any information directly from the balls.”
Yes they were. Again, look at panel 8 of the link I provided.
Considering it showed some sort of a pathway in Sydney that does not match any known human biological or neurological pathways, not really sure we can determine anything from that scan
Well they may have realsed that HOLY SHIT THOES THINGS ARE BEING USED BY SOMEONE WITH ADD!
or they may have seen too many Startrek episodes where the crew scaned something unknown to take scan results of “we dont know what the shit this is to take it casualy.
Hence the soft theory Sydney may be a baby Nth, avatar of a Nth, or that one orb has a Nth captain inside it and is linked to Sydney.
I like the idea that Syd is somehow a baby Space Wizard.
It makes me have teh warm fuzzy smiles.
The idea of Sydney as the new Q is scary.
then would this make Maxima her Captain Janeway?
Well she can’t be Sisko.
She hasn’t hit her.
And although she’s certainly not a Brute, she’s not diplomatic enough to be Picard.
I could see her being Kirk, if we accept the idea of Sydles being more akin to Squire Trelawney…which, I think, might be more apt?
*uncertain mumbling trailing off*
I am confused, the character from Treasure Island?
when Ro Jaws said the new Q, I referenced Janeway because during Star Trek Voyagers two Q decided to make something new, a baby Q, which due to Q time stuff became a teenager rather quickly and looked up to Janeway to teach them stuff.
https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Q_(Junior)
I am so sorry. I was refering to Squire Trelane (bloody autocorrect), aka, the Squire of Gothos, aka ‘q’ (as opposed to Q).
Re: Q Squared
The changes initiated by the orbs are subtle. they won’t be noticeable until Sydney fills the last pip on the power map. Then her existence will be subsumed and a new Nth will be created. No longer needed, the orbs will be released to trap a new host.
…hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………..
Not sure if not want?
1) The scans are probably more complex than a scan that human tech is capable of
2) It could be the parts of Sydnery’s nervous system that are firing up while in contact with the orbs.
3) It could be the nervous system or electrical synapses in the human body
4) DaveB might not have a medical degree and just did as close an approximation as he could do to a nervous system or something like that.
All that being said, the idea of Sydney as Nth-related is definitely a unique and interesting one. But I don’t think it’s something that will happen.
I’m not likely, to be still around by then, having Emphysema, a fatal disease BTW!! I’ve had a good long life so far, 70 next month!
Happy upcoming birthday and may you prove Emphysema wrong.
It is 100% fatal.
LIFE is 100% fatal… not to say I don’t think your being screwed over or anything.
Nah I happen to be immortal. So far I have yet to be proven wrong since I’m still alive.
Which does go with the idea they have encountered this tech before at least if they have an immediate all out attack response. At the very least whatever tech it was or whomever or whatever had it before was something that even a tiny bit of the tech detected is cause for an instant response; which if the Nth level beings of this setting are anything like those in other sci-fi and fantasy than its possible they had orders to ignore anything that was said to them (rather than not understanding Sydney, they had orders to no engage and either try to destroy or drive them off).
I always thought it was the just the time between the start of scanning and Sydney reacting to “shields up”. They only scanned two before she cut them off.
from the way it looked to me she put her shield up after the sentry probe started to freak out *red lines and noises and staying focused on her*.
it looks like it could only scan the interaction between her and the orb, the remaining mystery orb having some reaction while in flight, and something inside Sydney *green lines and what looks to be subtle orb colors inside her head*,
Pretty sure the scan wasn’t slower than her arm motion. The 2 orbs with data shown on the scan were both active while all the rest were just orbiting. Shield orb in hand and a highlighted entry, and the airb overhead was the only one with the ‘unique’ node filled which has since been confirmed as enabling passive functionality.
It doesnt look like they were scanning the orbs in ‘order’ rather than ‘all at once.’ IF you lookat the picture, there are beams going to each of the orbs, and writing only for two of them – the shield orb and the unknown orb around herh ead. The rest are blank. Possibly because the orbs can only be scanned at all by them while they’re being used, except for the unknown orb for who knows what reason.
yes, two very sepcific orbs PPO and shields, it is hily likly they encounterd those two before, if you look at the before and after orb rotation it was deff shield and PPO ….. weapons and shields is probs why they attacked and they seemed to have no knowledge of the other orbs in the arsenal, or at least did not strategize around them or the upgrade to the PPO, so i think they only recognised them from a previous encounter …….
Or they might have been the ones that Sydney was directly activating at that moment, and the KaijuSquidwards could get actual readings off them when they were active. Which means they had better tech than Dabbler, which was pretty much a given.
OK.. Dabbler is sooooo going to smack him.
Or jump his bones.
Or smack him *and* jump his bones.. It’s Dabbler after all…
*OR smack him *while* jumping his bones. Fair game among demons.
Aww….so everything is peacably resolved. Good thing there’s no one around who could artifi ually incite violence and then use the resulting fight to port upnand/-or escape.
If he tried that, he’ll be yeeted into space again until he plays nice. And then as punishment he’ll have to play the chauffeur by pouring energies into the ground to create portals for the reunited lovers.
And by god he does that too often for any sane man. Like, twice a day, minimum.
One webic that does colour-coded speech (and not just for off-panel speaking), is Drowtales (so sad it’s ending soon :( )
Regarding the new vote incentive I have questions about how 6188 sees anything.
She can see through her hair
While I’m not a fan of this specific scene, I would love for the vote incentives to shift from pinups to slice-of-life scenes like this month’s incentive. There are so, so many plot threads and characters that could be explored.
I’ll second that. Sometimes a joke or a bit of character study may not really fit into a story line but it further deepens the characterization, or gets a laugh … either one is fine.
Thirded
That is what this webic was founded on, so… fourded?
Specially if we some of the other, non-Sydney, cast
I like Sydney being present for a lot of it, but as an observer w/ no lines.
Just her epic facial expressions. ^_^
“I’m being written out of my own comic!”
Can’t remember which page hosts that extra sub-strip, to include an Archive link.
Are you referring to page 51?
That’d be the one. Thank you for doing the digging!
I’m still wondering when the proverbial other shoe will drop from
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-981-victory-pose/ (where Syd takes Vehemence to thru the worm hole).
In panel 4, the bird headed person says…
“Did you track it’s origin this time? If there’s a new player with that kind of tech, the Xenoarchy needs to know about it.”
Sooooo… Who’s coming, & what are they going to want to do with/about Sydney & her orbs???
Well if they call ahead and the local reps (or possibly now stationed in orbit space police) hear and if the location scan be specific to where on the planet then they’d end up seeing this scene with Archon talking to a demon lord.
They may end up concluding that the demons from dimension Hell (or a Hell Dimension) have developed Aetherium Causeway technology and were testing it out by going to the fracture.
In other words, Thothogoth may end up a tactical diversion to their suspicions.
I would say that if you plan to use colored text bubbles to designate offscreen talk more often, do it regularly even when they are not off screen. I did not know which color represented sydney until the end of panel 3. Having a color constantly be associated with a character makes putting the two together in scenes like this much easier.
Also you do not need to fill the whole bubble with the color to make the effect unless its an artistic choice (Like tom’s character might always have a filled color bubble.), but simple border the other talk bubbles in their unique color combo to keep the association going.
The border based on character color combinations was used in the Generation 2 comics of Transformers. They even used slightly different shapes at times like triangles or squares to give even more differentiation.
The Patreon image is the same size as the comic image
They’re not fighting over Dabbler. Clearly Dabbler, Halo, and Max are fighting over Tom.
Eh? Eh? Get it? Eh?
Booo!
*laugh*
Booo!
*laugh* I both boo and laugh you off the internet!
This is the kind of humor we appreciate on this forum. More please.
I love the fact that Tom and Dabbler went to school together. So, high school sweethearts? Which also brings up their (presumably) last encounter – https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-177-intergalactic-baggage/. I’m now curious about the specifics of that encounter – was that the equivalent of a football game? Or, since Dabbler was not looking forward to their reunion, maybe that’s where the pact was struck?
Arrangement.
Open marriage arrangements perhaps? :)
Maybe some sort of vulcan ‘pon far’ thing where every X years they get together?
Would explain why TGoth is so ruddy wound and uptight.
Annnd yep – looks like he needed some unwinding.
with one anecdote, I instantly like Tom
I’m amazed Tom hasn’t said some variation of “sit on my face” yet.
Clearly he’s only been on Earth for a short time.
Did Math also remove Jabber’s choker while he was at it? cause it seems to be missing in the last panel.
When di Jabbs get issued a choker?
I assume that Jazz owns the teal bra & Detla owns the other one.
ANYWAY…
My questions are,
— Did Math take Jazz’s choker?
— Starting as far back as Pg.966, all the men lack chokers, & Detla is the only female without one. Has anyone been told why this is?
— Why is Max missing her choker from Pg.974 onward?
Detla doesn’t have one, because she’s not a member yet
Why is Jabbs’ chocker a ‘w’?
It’s not “W” … it’s “JW”, as in “Jabberwokky”.
(__ unless you caught a “typo”, & I didn’t respond until after the Esteemed_Author had fixed it — I’m not sure __)
Happosai has taught him well.
I was going to say, Math has clearly studied the Anything-Goes style, under its original Master. ^_^
(now which code worked, if any…)

For my own, and anyone else’s future reference:
Plain URL becomes an active link.
BBCode remains plain text.
html code is blocked from appearing at all.
I guess DaveB isn’t big on comments with embedded images.
There are a bunch of html tags that work just fine. I know b, i, a, and blockquote all work. But yes, there does not appear to be any way to embed images, because that’s ripe for disruption.
Is it just me or did they take Lyrical Nanoah Vibe from them aparently befreinding people they beat?
https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/359/010/e46.jpg
So, DaveB established awkward teen Dabbler six years ago. Page 311, Dabbler appears on the left side wearing huge nerd glasses while a fire spirit sits on her head. Thothogoth is next to her in a button down shirt. Hilariously, Dabbler looks completely perplexed by the sexual escapades taking place.
Huh, my date for the high school reunion theory is back on the table.
“It’s been 150 years and neither of us is betrothed yet. You quadruple pinkie promised we’d attend together.”
“Why are you lurking naked in the brush and doing sexy splits?”
“Mass confusion! No-one will suspect!”
You could make the demon guy change form into a smaller form that or he could adjust his voice
Am I the only one that could differentiate between Max and Sydney’s speech bubbles? Max is a goldenrod to reference her skin and Sydney’s is a khaki shade referencing her hair.
I don’t think Sydney was talking. I think she was lurking, maybe taking notes or making weird Sydney type gestures.
Word bubbles? Max is gold, Dabbler is purple and Tom is Tom.
How many of those comments could have come from Sydney?
Er, on second viewing, Max’s bubble is gold and Sydney is a brown that looks very gold?
Because yeah, Sydney was talking there! Lol, too early for me to!
Also, Max has a purple border to reference her hair.
I think wider borders would make the color-coding much clearer.
I am starting to want to see a Dabbler spinoff comic…say, a monthly, of just Pandemonium High hijinx.
I must say, the black on orange font is almost too hard to read (at least on my monitor)
is it a different font, or bolded, or smaller size?…
It’s the font, and bolded
It’s Tommy’s ‘normal’ speech, just smaller
This “worked hard” construction that Detla is referring to isn’t in my lexicon, and Google was not helpful in clarifying the matter. Could someone explain it?
I’m also not sure what prisoner she believes she’s guarding… I mean, it’s probably Kevin, but he’s nowhere to be seen. So, not much guarding going on, and really, Detla’s a bit outclassed there. So is Jazza.
“Work hard, play harder”
And yes, the ‘prisoner’ was Kev
Det is there because she is still ‘learning’, and we already saw Jabbs take on Kev at the start of the sparring
I have always heard it as “work hard, play hard”,
I took it as a refusal, that they had “worked hard” and that he also needed to “work hard” to “balance the equation” before they would accept his proposal, but I couldn’t figure out what “worked hard” was a euphemism for. And the next panel didn’t really make sense with that interpretation anyway.
“Worked hard” being balanced by “play hard” makes much more sense, both conceptually, and in terms of the following panel.
But still… I don’t see how they are in any way guarding Kevin. Maybe he’s just off-panel, or maybe they should be looking for him after he got thrown into the air by Tom’s arrival. Regardless, Detla and Jazza both took a shot at Kevin, and despite strong starts, ultimately were outclassed by the way his power scales in response. They do not have the means to “guard” him, in any respect other than to watch him and perhaps report if he leaves, because they do not have the capacity to stop him.
It’s probably a reference to the phrase “worked hard and put away wet”, which originally references a horse being exercised until it sweats and then put back in the stable without having the sweat wiped off. “You look worked hard and put away wet” means you look exhausted and generally bad.
It is more likely given the implications of the statement about indulging after working hard to be related to the common in North America phrase of “word hard, play hard”
meaning that you put your effort into a job so you should put your effort in playing/having fun/relaxing after you work.
Dabbler should’ve said: “Sydney I’m gonna punch you out for that!”
Its Dabbler! She won’t punch when she can tickle or pinch.
More energy in it for her than violence.
The Sydney and Max bubbles are a similar shade on my screen, so it took me a few extra seconds to figure out.
So this confirms that Tom was the normal sized…whatever he is…in the Xuriel flashback of her school life.
On a separate note, would it be too … “Spoiler”-ish if Thothogoth’s thumbnail-bio…
1)___ … started with: [AKA “Tom, “]?
2)___ … possible typo-fix: […a huge(?) demon…]
The structure of this page is interesting:
(A) two scenes that by themselves would be average get combined, like peanutbutter and chocolate, into something genuinely amusing.
(B) The most powerful characters in the strip, who are more often the center of attention, are but the comic background to the foreground characters this time
(C) Detla gets an additional dimension, beyond Serious Warrior Woman into Also Willing To Party Girl. No doubt she’ll take that as seriously as she does her martial arts. And now that we’ve seen it, she has a nice smile!
Yes, but how well will she take her marital arts training?
Well … she *does* seem committed to perfecting her marital arts technique. Most things get better only through practice!
Detla’s been here like what? One day? And she already has a grasp on human metaphors?
maybe she just never met a phor she didn’t understand
I doubt having his clothes hidden from him will bother him lol
Going to be pretty hard to explain to his boss though when it’s time for the team to pack up and ride the same transport home.
I love being right when I look at today’s panel
I personally thinks it works just fine as martial arts due to it being Math.
I cant wait till math has to fight an ACCTUAL precog who knows how to fight i figure it would be Almost as much fun to watch as if flash ever had to fight batman seriously (sounds one sided till you remember that as a CSI Barry had to take basic police training speed plus training will beat just training)
Honestly gotta say I’ve been getting disappointed in this comic recently. I read a review that pointed out how sexualized the comic has become, and I gotta say… now it’s all I’m seeing. We just had Vehemence and now this Giant Big Baddy ™ set up for a big fight scene, and we keep getting cutaways to the women talking about sex, sex, and more sex rather than any action (heh). I think the change happened soon after the Parking Lot Fight, but it’s been most noticeable to me since Sydney got tossed into space.
Different things for different people. Back when I started reading it was more of a comedy deconstructive superhero comic (“Now imagine you’ll miss your target”) with occasional fanservice, and I really got into it. Now it seems like less than 1 comic out of 10 can pass the Bechdel Test, which is a pretty low bar. [For those of you unfamilliar – try Google ;-) .] I know sex can sell, and DaveB’s nude Patreon pages can be enticing at times, but that’s not what I read the comic for.
I honestly do not understand this comment.
The entire Battle Of Times Square and the pit training sequence were Bechtel-compliant (the sex talk at the end of BOTS and the conversation on this page are mixed-gender hence Bechtel-neutral at least; Halo thanking Dabs for the Very Useful Potion was about Sydney’s needs – not about the male at all.)
This webcomic has been about adult relationships from the very start, with superheroing merely the setting albeit a pretty creatively presented setting (since most battles are not resolved by raw power but by creative problemsolving). Sex is a fun part of adult relationships and leaving it out would leave us with what …? Philosophy? Politics?
If you don’t like the comic, fine, but we are getting what was advertized.
The concept of attempting the Bechdel test in this comic is ludicrously inapplicable. First of all, Bechdel is applied tom movie-length works, so call it “chapters” of this…. 60-120 pages.
All the top characters are women. They talk about everything strategic and tactical and logistical in the comic. Has there EVER been a 100-page section where there were not two women talking about something that wasn’t a man?
How about a 25-page section?
Only one of the three has a sex life… wait, Sydney does too now. But she doesn’t actually talk about the guy much, which is what breaks Bechdel for most movies. But not much of the story is about her furry relationship.
And Dabbler literally doesn’t care who, guy or girl, or even WHAT she’s getting her feed from. She’s literally a sex demon, so talking about sex to her is like discussing lunch.
In any case, pretending that the fanservice isn’t a top characteristic of the comic just ignores canon. Supers are explicitly formed into exaggerated sexual paragons. No one knows why (except Dave).
It could be pretty funny if supers were the opposite of exaggerated sexual paragons?
“The monster is wrecking the city! Where is Superdweeb? What is Ultranerd? Save us, Smelly Seven!!!”
so a early to mid 90s kid’s show/game then.
*Earthworm Jim, Freakazoid, Battle Toads, ect…*
Agreed, the Bechdel is a poor measure here and is probably passing it anyways. I too though would like more super shenanigans that are unique to this comic, and less horniness which could be found anywhere.
In fairness, this particular page has Math and Dabbler’s Ex, so it was kinda going to come up.
And Cora’s a friend of Dabs as well. It’ll tone down if we get a less Dabbler-heavy arc later on. She’s kinda been thrust into the spotlight for the last few.
The comic has always had a massive cheesecake factor, and its been fairly equal opportunity with the beefcake too. There has been more sex in the comic recently, that’s true, but it has actually to me at least generally felt more appropriate that the cheesecake sometimes is.
And Math and Jabberwocky are well established as horndogs
I had to squint a bit due to the fonts you chose, but I managed to read it. Mostly just Thothomoth’s text, that fat font made it less legible.
Oddly, the Patreon image is, for me, not at all “double size.” It’s pretty much the exact same size as the comic. But then I do blow up the regular comic a few steps (via , and the browser just stays open so I have no idea how many that is. Or not, because when I opened a new browser window and then the comic it was the exact same size.
I can see Max and Tom bonding by sharing Dabbler stories.
What is more fearsome than seeing two ex’s have a drink together and sharing stories? LOL.
Didn’t know Max was one of Dabbler’s ex’s now… In fact, I doubt MAX knows! ;)
Hnmm, Succubi are said to be able to enter dreams, and not everyone remembers their dreams.
what if Maxima’s subconscious was into Dabbler, just not her consciousness, so after awhile the subconscious broke it off because only half (a third, quarter, or some overlap *neurology/psychology can get a touch fuzzy here), was consenting.
I would have thought gold would be maxima… leaving halo ummm green?
