Grrl Power #951 – Superheroes on (melted) ice
Is casually standing on water sacrilegious? I’m sure someone could take offense to it, but then people can take offense to basically anything. (A fact which clearly invalidates all peoples’ feelings in all matters.) Does Max care? She does not. She actually thinks it’s kind of funny, especially when she walks over a deep pothole filled with water, but she flies so that her shoe doesn’t get wet, but the person behind her thinks it’s a shallow puddle because it looked like Max barely made the surface ripple and suddenly they’re shoulder deep.
Max knows officers aren’t supposed to project their emotions at their subordinates, and if the team was in the field, or if she was standing on the bridge of her own Naval vessel, she certainly wouldn’t. But right now she just wants half an hour to decompress because she knows there’s a buttload of paperwork waiting for her. Unfortunately, Archon HQ is chocked full of distractions and crazy people, so she has to herd the cats before anything else can happen.
This is largely her own fault though, since she is so permissive when it comes to “around the base” discipline. As long as her people do their jobs and obey orders in the field, she’s usually okay with a little goofing around on downtime. She’s always been of the opinion that Supers by and large don’t respond well to crushing authoritarianism. Which is more likely to be true among Supers than mudbloods for entirely predictable reasons. Still, running a much tighter ship wouldn’t have saved her from much of the aggravation she’s already dealt with today.
I’ve never really developed the skill to draw Hiro the way I wanted. I picture him somewhere between the square jawed Daniel Dae Kim (you’d mostly know him from Lost. He was also in 168 episodes of the new Hawaii Five-0, but I’ve never once heard anyone talk about that show except for when a bunch of asian actors walked because the white actors were getting paid way more, because, you know, the world sucks) mixed in with the more rugged look of Hiroyuki Sanada (Sunshine, Inception and about a thousand other things.) He’s supposed to be “make women walk into walls and trip over things” handsome, but clearly I’m a ways from achieving that with my art.

Max is being a bit of a hypocrite here. But she sometimes is a hypocrite. Imperfect heroes and all that. It would be boring if the heroes were always perfect and without flaws, although it would be nice if they occasionally get called on it in story or realize what they’re doing or saying is hypocritical (Maxima did realize when she’s being a hypocrite or inappropriate a few times though – after the Mars factory fight with Hiro, and when she was questioning Harem about her sexual daliances).
How is she being a hypocrite in this situation though? Well… one second she’s engaging in what could fairly be called sexual harassment of Hiro with her commentary on a DIFFERENT person far more blatantly sexually harassing Hiro and her (Maxima) agreeing with the results. Because Hiro is hella hot with no shirt on. Then when Hiro makes a rather tepid joke remark, she acts like he’s the one skirting the H.R. violation. Right after she just did the same thing. That’s the hypocrisy. That she can make the H.R. worthy joke but he can’t.
Fortunately Hiro doesnt seem to mind it and seems to brush it off, but there is a whole thing about how men being on the receiving end of this stuff doesnt seem to matter. Either because the men literally don’t mind it, or are less sensitive about it, or are just used to the double standard. I dunno – I can’t think like a guy, although it’s a longstanding joke that guys’ egos are boosted when women flirt with them, but women…. less so. Unless the guy is hot.
But it could also just be a joke on Maxima’s behalf and she has poor comeback delivery skills.
Not to mention Maxima literally joked about this earlier in the comic with him – that ‘she owes him a peek.’ :)
“Not to mention Maxima literally joked about this earlier in the comic with him – that ‘she owes him a peek.’ :)”
When did she say that???
it was towards the end of a battle. both Hiro and Maxi were caught in a big boom. the explosion got through the outer layer that protects the clothes. Hiro Bravely and with great discipline kept his eyes shut. max.. was a little less disciplined. eventually someone loaned/gave max a jacket that did not fit well. Korona fixed it.
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-523-field-flirt/
Here ya go Sasha :)
Admittedly the condition was on if they were ever the same rank, but still…. :)
Could also be read that Max is pointing out he’s ignoring Harem’s HR violation, rather than one of his own (e.g. being shirtless while on-duty…?). However we have seen Max flirt with Hiro a bit before – I’m about 50/50 on whether the training Hiro will arrange will be an outing with Max or some pseudo-training punishment for Harem.
I wanna believe that since they’ve both expressed attraction towards each other even though a relationship is currently not possible, they are at least comfortable enough to make jabs like that and the HR threat is only done in jest.
Maxima has made commentary about Hiro’s good looks also during the bridge incident.
Which Maxima caused (even though she blamed poor innocent Sciona for it). :)
Maxima flirting with her subordinate. Hiro doesnt seem to mind. Sydney thinks those two should get a room though. Dabbler disagrees.
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-618-bridge-building/
It’s definitely hypocritical if she’s serious, but I think she might be joking/teasing or even flirting, her facial expression seems to point in that direction.
Oh I’m pretty sure it IS teasing or flirting. Poor Maxima can’t do more because it would be inappropriate when they’re not the same rank and she has a major thing for Hiro.
I’m just saying it’s still hypocritical. :)
I know this is only a comic and is in a different universe/reality. Because of that, then I take this as it’s meant to be, a light joking/flirting thing. I have no problem with it, although you expressed the first thought that went through my head.
After a few minutes thinking about it I came to wonder something. Seriously, how many people would have come into the comments raging and cancelling and causing general mayhem if that was a male colonel-female major combination and a male subordinate came in and stole the females shirt? Then to add onto that already flagrant act, the male colonel makes a joke about it?
Like I said, personally I find it slightly humorous and know it’s a comic, as well as a comic about a different reality. What I’m wondering about is even though it is all those things, there would be many people that wouldn’t care about any of that and just focus on a woman being harrassed.
To be fair, Sydney did something similar to Harem (when she pranked Harem and made her lose her bikini top in the pool), but I totally get everything you said and agree that if the gender roles had been reversed there would definitely have been a lot of rage in the comments. :)
Do you think that how shirtless men and shirtless women are treated differently might contribute to that hypothetical?
I do not, since Maxima’s hypocrisy was about Hiro making a joking suggestion, after it was done to him for real, and after Maxima verbally implicitly agreed with what Harem did.
It’s the hypocrisy about sexual harassment at issue more than the societal acceptability of toplessness.
Maxima’s response is also a joke. I don’t think she was intending to shut Hiro down, or she wouldn’t have phrased it as a response to his question.
While disrobing another person without their consent is inappropriate behavior, and a violation of their body and privacy, I think it likely that the differing social acceptability of toplessness between the sexes, and the reasoning behind it, affects the degree to which the same behavior would be considered sexual harassment. Male toplessness is considered either harmless, or threatening — the man isn’t considered harmed by being seen topless, but might be considered sexually threatening, and thus a harm to the viewer. Female toplessness is considered either harmful to the woman, or damaging to society. There’s a lot of historical baggage at work about the intersection of power and sexuality.
Can you judge an action independent of its consequences? If the amount of harm caused differs based on the specifics of the situation, then does not the evaluation of those actions also differ?
Thank you. As a guy, I do appreciate it when people recognize that trope and call it out, because for many of us it’s just not true.
what’s with the foot fetishry lately
Eh, drawing feet is hard. Shoes are pretty easy overall but toes and stuff and the dimensions are all a little wonky. I’d chalk this more up to practice. Those feet are a little chonky, yeah, but hey, practice practice practice.
Hey, Dave is already better than Rob “someone who can’t draw feet” Liefeld….
This is true, lol. :) I knew of this artist who did these doodle drawings and one of them had one of his characters drawing other characters in a Liefeld style, and the other character said ‘Do I really need 27 pouches?’ to which the response was ‘You can never have enough pouches.’ And then the question was asked ‘why don’t I have feet?’ and the response was ‘where we’re going, we don’t need feet.’ (ie, if you draw like Liefeld, you will not have feet, and your spine might be able to twist around like an owl’s neck.)
I wonder how Halo would look in Liefeld style. Each orb in a pouch.
And tubey would have pouches on it as well. And be in a pouch. And her utility belt would have 200% more pouches
And now I have the urge to go shopping for cargo shorts. Why ever wear anything else?!
On the one hand, Maxima’s joke about an HR violation was inappropriate, insensitive, and not particularly funny. Especially given that Hiro just had his shirt stolen by a subordinate, and the aforementioned subordinate is the one skirting an HR violation.
On the other hand, Maxima IS the commanding officer. And a commanding officer’s jokes are always funny. Just like how a commanding officer can ask a favor, and the subordinate is under no pressure to refuse. So it does make sense… Maxima simply doesn’t realize she’s being extremely insulting, and Hiro is pretending not to notice.
I love what you just said there.
“The subordinate is under no pressure to refuse.”
I’m going to use that in the future when asking friends for help. That’s just perfect :) LOL
I think you’re reading her answer wrong…
Although that’s mostly due to running into the absolute limits of what can be done with pictures and text without all the subtle subtones and nonverbals you can’t really convey.
I think this is as close as Maxima, the Professional Feminist and Soldier, will ever come to “flirting on the job”.
Hell… She’s positively *purring* there…
While warning Hiro that there’s Ears all over the place in a building full of Supers.
(And a Dabbler who would *definitely* have picked up on the vibe… But Dabbler has a healthy sense of self-preservation..)
Yeah, trying to have some secret sex with Dabbler in the building?
Never going to work.
Have Digit invent a tantric energy masking field generator. Then don’t tell her what it’s for. Then distract her with something shiny after she invents it so she forgets about it. :)
But then it would create a suspicios void in the general background tantric radiation. Dabbler is clever and a expert at finding hidden sex. And what happens to the accumulated tantric energy captured inside the field? I can imagine that Max and Hiro could create quite a big charge. Will it discharge and create a tantric overload in those close to it.
It binds the tantric energy in the double bonds of short chain carbohydrates. This is why Dabbler and Harem are addicted to the gumdrops from a particular vending machine…
In this instance, I don’t think max is being hypocritical. She is being a hypocrite toward her general attitude, but this is definitely a lot of flirting.. If it were a more private setting(difficult, i know) I could this conversation being more of “Bad news is, we’ve both committed a hr violation”
Oh I think she’s both being hypocritical AND flirting. The flirting is just an additional hypocritical part. :)
But it’s not like it hasnt happened before as well, and it HAS been lampshaded by both Maxima and Hiro (after the Mars factory fight).
I initially assumed that the one who was stealing Hiro’s shirt was Dabbler. But apart from her not VORPing, I also realized eventually that if Dabbler had delivered that line, it would have been “badnewsisbestdeliveredtotallynakedandprobablywitharagingerection”. This version is probably for the best.
Dabbler would have stolen Hiro’s pants.
Was gonna object to the “mudblood comment” but you DID just mention normal folks trying to follow Maxima across an unexpectedly deep puddle…so I’ll let it slide. This time. Don’t make me fill out a buttload of paperwork though!
I’m now in the firm belief that someone criticized Dave a while back, making a comment along the lines of “terrible artist, obviously can’t draw feet very well”, and the last few pages has been a solid middle finger to whoever that person was.
I’m going to assume that Dave have thicker skin than that.
Human skin is roughly about 2 mm thick (about 0.07 inches).- at most Dave’s is 3mm, anything else could be a disease
I can’t stop laughing at this post. help!
Beats the poor girl whose zombie apocalypse comic got taken down because she couldn’t overcome some *******’s comments from a year before. Yes, I’m still angry.

Since you’re trying to make Hiro into someone super attractive to women, let me share my 2 cents:
Media targeted at women seems to be more emotional compared to the relatively blunt stuff targeting male gaze. I mean, just look at Twilight. Lots of staring contests, but the amount of violence is quite lacking. Or look at Anime like Prince of Tennis. Another example are the guys from the (family friendly) Not A Villain comic. Both Bandit and Dude are stereotypes I’ve seen multiple times in media that targets women. Also, when you look at Eerie Cuties, even though it seems to be targeted squarely at men, the author is a women and thus the comic uses a LOT more emotional sexiness than grrlpower or the even blunter By the Book or Delve.
Those are just a few examples of stuff I know, and since I’m a guy I might have gotten some things wrong, but I think that Hiro is waaaaay too blunt and inexpressive to become epically attractive to women. It really isn’t about your drawing skills at all. You draw super well.
Tangentially, look at the boy band phenomena, or K-Band phenomena, or all the BL mangas, characters all have one something in common, confidence; According to my female friends, wife and other sources, confidence and passion are the two hottest thing in a man, after that, for the visual media, you need strong jaws, defined but not exaggerated muscles, simetric body and face, after that you reach into specific likes and dislikes.
I’m not convinced that women actually KNOW what they like in men. In general what they do contradicts what they say. Probably there is a conflict between what their minds like and what their glands like. From an evolutionary perspective their best bet is to shag a philandering jerk and cuckold a nice guy, so the contradiction serves them well.
It’s not impossible to get some pointers, as I’ve pointed out above, and I agree that confidence and passion weigh more than good looks. Looking healthy is very important, though, because biological instincts. Hiro looks like he wants to tread super carefully though, and rightfully so, because Maxima, so he doesn’t come across as all that confident, and even less passionate.
I think that so far the closest candidate to being highly attractive to women out of the grrlverse cast is Frix. He’s just such a perfect gentleman. Yes, polyarmorous, but that seems more like a necessity by the plot to allow for him to become Sydney’s boyfriend at all.
I’m not convinced you actually know any women with comments like that.
Women know what they want. In my experience most guys with your perspective are self proclaimed nice guys who complain about how women are confusing and give mixed signals. They aren’t and they don’t. You act like their friend and then expect them to sleep with you. Nope, they wanted a friend, not a FWB, not a boyfriend. You want the boyfriend role stop friendzoning yourself and just talk to them like human beings.
Since you have not telepathically surveyed ALL women, I’m not convinced that you can speak for all women. Likewise with ALL men. Maybe women don’t seem confusing TO YOU, but it is likely that many if not most men find most women to be confusing TO THEM. It is a developmental stage that a person assumes that everyone else see the world the same way (and probably feels the same way about it emotionally) as the viewpoint person. Part of the reason I find women so fascinating is that they don’t see the world the same way I do. While your advice to talk to women as human beings is good, your generalizations about women and men who act like gentlemen seem like over generalizations to me. The way I was raised, I never expected any woman to want to sleep with me, but over the course of my life a surprising number volunteered to do so. I could give other examples.
harem is going to be peeling the potatoes for the entire building. the open parts, the militarized hardened parts, the secret parts, so many potatoes that the civilian restaurants will be having free/discount fries day cause she will be peeling so many of them with all of her dopplegangers/copies
I prefer my fries the way five guys does them. with the skin on the ends. potato wedges are good too.
I actually wonder if Harem having every copy doing the exact same thing at once would throw her off. We know she’s fantastic at multi-tasking, but doing a boring, repetitive task like peeling potatoes might actually throw her off, like rubbing your tummy with 8 hands while patting your head with only 1.
I can imagine a mishap if she didn’t stay focused on which copy was holding which size potato, or even picking up a new one while 4 other neural pathways were still chopping in the equivalent space.
Honestly making Harem have all 5 of her do the exact same repetitive boring task is probably one of the best punishments you could give.
Or on the opposite force her to un-vorp 4 of her so she’s down to the one form and then do something boring and tedious, I figure this might be a good option since Harem did once mention that not having the extra sets of senses around feels really limiting to her, and is one reason she doesn’t do that. Of course the drawback to this one is there’s no easy way to guarantee she hasn’t just sent her other 4 off to play games while one is stuck on punishment detail.
I wonder if Harem could be required to un-vorp instances as punishment. As you mentioned, how could you even enforce that given her teleportation. But more critically, from an HR standpoint forcing her to depop as punishment is arguably like cutting an arm off someone with regeneration, even if it doesn’t hurt. Sure, it’ll grow back, but imposing control on someone’s body like that goes way beyond discipline and into the realm of physical/psychological torture.
It’s… not like there is one central Daphne remote-controlling the other five: they simply share sensations and memories
Yes, they can be overwhelmed (Maxima-wedgie for example), but peeling spuds isn’t that monotonous she would slice a hand off!
Not so much that it’s monotonous, as that doing a bunch of nearly-identical motions with only slight variation is hard to get precisely right. Muscle memory starts to override conscious control, and I suspect Harem relies heavily on muscle memory when driving 5 bodies which would be disastrous when it failed her (see the super-wedgie incident).
Again, it’s not one Daphne running five bodies at the same time: they each are semi autonomous until they ‘sync-up’
There is still the risk of all five getting bored at the same time though, and Hiro is probably smart (and vindictive) enough to have them do them in consecutive rather than simultaneous shifts (as soon as one finishes, the next starts, that way they can have Daphne peel for three days straight without risking her getting tired or skip her On-Duty shifts)
It’s certainly better than the way Sgt Schlock does it.
*shudder* no more mashed potatoes for me today, thanks.
Dabbler on “Holding your breath for fun and profit” I damn near swallowed my tongue during the amused SNORK. I’m still trying to work out why I find a purple four-armed woman with alarming teeth, horns, cloven hooves and a prehensile split tongue so alluring. I realise that after this stopped being an hilarious satire of comic book culture it turned into a way to be paid for drawing boobs, but it’s still true art when DaveB captures the abstract essence of “sexy” and applies it like that.
“I’m still trying to work out why I find a purple four-armed woman with alarming teeth, horns, cloven hooves and a prehensile split tongue so alluring.”
Oh, the answer’s simple. Her personality. Simply put, Dabbler is genuinely fun, friendly, funny, and interesting. It’s easy to imagine yourself on a date with her, and having the time of your life BEFORE she takes you to her bedroom and feeds on your sexual energy.
HAD a weird thought… A “What Could Possibly Happen” Series a Grrl Power version of what if mostly as imagined by Sydney.
Thing is last panel of each situation would be left blank. for the fans to guess at.
Like Dabbler says she’s going to the food court for a snack. Outside we see ARC tower tour buses arriving. Note on wall says, “Feed the Tourists first. They ask fewer Questions later.” Sydney then sees elevator going down – raises an eyebrow and – blank panel.
Someone decides to prank Sydney again. “Go get me two boxes of flight line from Arc Spark!” Next panel is blank of course.
Someone sends Ariana a Box of Spiders (says so right on box) via delivery service. She tosses it out a window on realization. Below we see the power intake for the showers… then box being sucked open…then blank panel…
these could be done in micro-sub comics under main comic no?
““The subordinate is under no pressure to refuse.” Yes, they are both could be courtsmartialed lose rank, or be given a Dishonorable Discharge
Its a joke Sasha.:)
Like the idea that your boss’s jokes are always hilarious.
Also a subversion of the saying “You’re under no obligation to do this.”
Hi, for the vote incentive right now, is there a contraption that actually does that for BDSM ? Thank you. Love GRRL Power.
Max is a hypocrite.
Yes, she is, but that’s sort of one of her human flaws. She’s hypocritical at times. She also is sometimes overly prideful (justifiable but still), stubborn (she’s a military commander, probably helps in her line of work even if it annoys Anvil when trying to make her have fun), and underestimates people (Sciona and Vehemence). She’s hypocritical MAINLY with Dabbler and Hiro – flirt-wise with Hiro because she DEFINITELY has a thing for him, and Dabbler because Dabbler annoys the heck out of her so she warns Dabbler to not cause a cave-in…. before almost causing a cave-in of her own. :)
Perfect people are boring, I like my heroes to have significant character flaws so I can rag on them sometimes.
Peter Parker has a borderline inferiority complex and is continually guilt-ridden over things that arent his fault.
Wolverine is a jerk in general. A jerk with a heart of gold, but a jerk.
Iron Man has so many character flaws that it can fill a novel. But he’s awesome.
Green Arrow is completely full of himself, but he’s fun.:)
Same for Hawkeye, actually.
Thor is extreeeeemely arrogant. Again, probably with good reason.
Monet St. Croix is rude, obnoxious, and arrogant. Although very, very, honest. Painfully honest. Also little miss perfect. And FREQUENTLY correct, which makes the arrogance not only well-founded, but even more annoying. :)
Batman is almost incapable of having a normal life because EVERYTHING is about ‘The Mission.’ In Robin’s words “Batman doesn’t have friends. I have friends – he has allies and acquaintances” – although honestly Commissioner Gordon, Superman and Wonder Woman are probably the closest thing he has to actual friends. He doesnt like to admit that though. He’s been caught mentioning it a few times and each time his response to being caught calling them friends is a grumble.
Maxima? Maxima is hypocritical, arrogant, stubborn and underestimates people.
Sydney? Often has the attention span of a mayfly, frequently immature, and spazzy.
Harem? MAJORLY immature, flighty, talks before thinking sometimes.
Math? Easily ….. EASILY ….oh so easily… distracted by boobs. Doesn’t pay attention to his surroundings AFTER he’s done showing off (Harem bonking him on the head after he beat Anvil in a spar). Sort of arrogant but not as much as Maxima. Again – well founded arrogance though.
Stalwart? Seems a little insecure at times.
Anvil? Leans into fights because of her power – makes her power more obvious (worked to her disadvantage with Vehemence)
Achilles? Achilles is just sorta dumb. But fun dumb. Lovably stupid. Mwaah.
Heatwave? Also dumb. But again, lovably so. Mwaah.
Dabbler? Incredibly flighty, very inappropriate with people on purpose, and seems to have a death wish with annoying Maxima. :)
Havent seen much in the way of character flaws from Amorphous or Hiro, but Amorphous hasnt had THAT much screen time and Hiro tends to be very ‘professional.’
What seems to some like hypocrisy in Max is actually the conflict between her job and her baseline, fairly normal personality.
Hiro is her friend, not just a random person newly assigned to her unit. They have previously established a relationship in battle that allows light flirting, but limited by the demands of their organization.
Her first flirt on this page was, “Eh?”
Hiro replied “?”
She continued the flirt “She’s not wrong”
At this point, Hiro had the choice to stop her or play along. Due to their previously established relationship, he would have had no problem stopping her, but he chose freely and without fear of reprisal to continue the flirt by taking it up a level.
Call it fair or call it unfair, in their culture a man without a shirt is not the same as a woman without a shirt, which explains both his “cough” and her flirtateous response.
He continued by with an even more flirtateous response, drawing upon the particular language they had established between them, and she agreed.
All of the words were carefully calibrated to be capable of innocent interpretation, and therefore proof against a charge of harassment, and all of the words were flirtateous.
It was two consenting adults having a conversation out of uniform and on free time, with either free to discourage the other and choosing not to do so. The demands of their organization allows nothing more.
That is not hypocrisy, it’s just life.
“What seems to some like hypocrisy in Max is actually the conflict between her job and her baseline, fairly normal personality.”
I would argue it’s both conflict between her job and personality, AND also hypocrisy because what she said WAS hypocritical, regardless of the intent, plus she would have had a different stance had the gender roles been reversed. I just don’t mind because it’s a character flaw that Maxima has. She’s been hypocritical more than once. This isnt like a ‘Maxima is hypocritical and therefore I hate her’ thing I’m saying. It’s a ‘Maxima can be a hypocrite because she’s a person and people can sometimes be hypocrites, whether or not they actively realize it.”
“At this point, Hiro had the choice to stop her or play along. Due to their previously established relationship, he would have had no problem stopping her, but he chose freely and without fear of reprisal to continue the flirt by taking it up a level.”
I don’t see how this diminishes that it IS hypocrisy. The idea is ‘she can flirt with him, he can’t flirt back with her.’ But honestly I don’t think it’s MEAN spirited at least. She means it as a joke. Hiro accepts it as a joke.
“Call it fair or call it unfair, in their culture a man without a shirt is not the same as a woman without a shirt, which explains both his “cough” and her flirtateous response”
I’m… actually going to still call it unfair, since whether a man or woman, it’s diminishing their authority and professionalism by sexualizing them in a situation where they are trying to be professional.
“It was two consenting adults having a conversation out of uniform and on free time, with either free to discourage the other and choosing not to do so. The demands of their organization allows nothing more.”
“It was two consenting adults having a conversation out of uniform and on free time, with either free to discourage the other and choosing not to do so.”
1) If they were truly on their own free time, HR would not be a risk factor anyway.
2) I don’t think they are on their own free time technically. I think it’s more like firefighters. Even when they’re not actively doing something, they’re still technically on duty. :)
“That is not hypocrisy, it’s just life.”
Correction. It’s hypocrisy AND it’s life. In life, people can and are often hypocrites. Sometimes without realizing it. Maxima’s admitted to being a hypocrite when dealing with Hiro before btw. She’s even admitted it TO Hiro. And they both laughed about it because it’s funny.
DaveB, you might want to give Hiro a basso profondo voice, like Tim Foust or Geoff Castellucci, where most women seem to find their low notes to be extremely exciting. Mind you both guys have killed speakers singing low notes.
As points of comparison, check a couple of music videos on YouTube: 16 Tons with Geoff Castellucci and Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (Peter is the guy who shows up three times at the beginning; Tim is singing lead most of the time while staring into the camera). If you are looking for musical rabbit holes, then check out VoicePlay (Geoff’s group) and Home Free (Tim’s group).
Love both of those songs, thanks for sharing – Tennessee Ford’s rendition of 16 Tons is unsurpassable, but this was great. Going to be binging both of those groups’ playlists this week.
So far so good. Also went and looked up a local acapella group I met with a pretty solid basso profundo, wish their studio had been a little better because their YouTube audio (and my laptop speakers) doesn’t do him justice.
Yeah I’d kill for Tim Foust’s voice, it’s not just that he can hit such low notes but also has a really wide singing range, so he doesn’t always have to sing in subwoofer threatening territory.
Also worth mentioning that Home Free are damn amazing (Acapella group that Tim is a part of for those unaware).
Anyone into a cappella is also hopefully aware of the incredible Pentatonix, if not go treat yourself.
I’ve heard Vin Diesel also speaks at the same resonant frequency as that which governs the most sensitive parts of a lady’s anatomy.
Yes when he says ‘Family’ it gets my loins all a-flutter.
The vote incentive is down it seems… Wah!
This was meant as a reponse to someone dangit
I love that this forum does trolly things like that sometimes.
The forum software is a secondary NPC, possibly it will get a speaking part in the final act.
pundit: what you call the one what punned it
Go stand in the corner and think about what you just did.
Shoo!
Git!
So many punsters in this forum. I’m so proud.
Super Strength, Flight, Super Durability…Maybe not to the same degree as Maxima, but is Hiro *made* for her? Such similar powersets~
Thighs are way long! Halp, can’t unsee.
I think most of the proportion issue is actually the arms – they’re like 1/2 the normal length.
speaking to the incentive…lmao if there was such a substance and I found myself in such a position, I would in fact eagerly release it bahahahaha
Daaave, Maxima looks like a duck in this one. Dave!
IDK, the end of that conversation sounds like code speak for “Wanna get a room this weekend on the down low?” to me.
