Grrl Power #95 – Harem, sometimes spelled NJP
Someone must have explained Harem’s powers to Sydney. The reflex is understandable, but the “boo” doesn’t make sense unless she knows there are multiple women who all have the same power and sensory network. The only other explanation is that I didn’t plan this scene far enough ahead and should have had Punk Harem coming down in the elevator magic.
Harem’s snide comment comes from the fact that there’s no such thing as power dampers in this universe. Personally I think it’s a bit of a cop-out to have them, but I understand why they exist in mature universes like Marvel or DC, especially with the plethora of super geniuses and alien technology readily available. Incarcerating the super powered in this world will be a considerable challenge.
So yeah, finally got some ads up which most of you probably might not even notice at first if it wasn’t for the fact that I had to shrink the width of the comments back down to make them fit. I may play with the padding or something to see if I can condense them a bit since I know the page gets pretty crazy tall after a while. I’m still feeling it out but the space on the side lets me add some other stuff, like links to comics I like and whatever.
Speaking of which, allow me to direct your attention to Gyno-Star, which I’ve been meaning to pimp for a while. It starts off black and white but jumps to color fairly quickly and is pretty funny if you like superheroes and feminism.
Edit: Updated the flounder mouth since it bugged enough people.
It’s probably already been stated, but maybe Sydney’s just clever. She recognized the tell-tale vorp, purple aura, and whatever else about Harem’s teleporting that triggers her punchy-you in the nose response.
Actually, all you would need to incarcerate Harem would be
a) a big room, one that encompasses Harem’s range
b) a smaller room within that one for the actual cell
c) electric fans
d) sawdust
fill the outer room with sawdust being blown around by the fans as mentioned in the author comments in one of the earlier strips.
Just make a concrete block that is larger than her range, then make a narrow tunnel to the center where the cell is. Fill the tunnel with doors that are so tightly packed that you can’t teleport between them.
That would work, except Harem’s range is pretty big. Like, miles. And the whole prison complex would have to be deep underground.
You would also have to detain all of her since she can teleport to where they are or just unteliport herself into telistasis. and then reteliport out of telistasis. And know everyplace she knows well enough to just teleport to, and know how to get around her teliscan of where she teleports to or be able to jam-spoof her teliscan
Actually, scratch that. More cost-effective (if morally questionable) would be to keep super prisoners to drugged to use their powers effectively.
There is a means of putting people into a coma. Usually done for patients who would otherwise suffer greatly from pain. Still it is certainly suspect from a moral, ethical and Constitutional view.
I think Maxima’s “Or something” should be that she secretly replaces all Harem’s panties with high-tech, unbreakable fabric replicas, then repeats her “Discipline” From page 72.

Hang all five from different light fixtures around the base.
Adrianna: “Harem… why aren’t you just teleporting back down?”
Harem: “She just re-hangs me, and the jerking around just digs them in deeper! (sob)”
A collar around her throat that zaps her every time she teleports.
NJP or non judicial punishment sometimes called a ninjs punch by the marine corps
Is ‘summary execution’ still permitted NJP?
Security clearances aren’t strictly tied to pay grade; civilians qualify for them without any rank. Top brass necessarily require the highest clearance ratings, but at lower ranks clearances are granted depending on the MOS and duty station’s requirements. I assume members of this branch would need extraordinary clearances.
“What are you going to do? Put me in prison?”
“How about putting you in traction?”
I know Max is not that violent with her subordinates/allies, but that is the thought that popped in my head.
