Grrl Power #863 – A dangerous day to be a swinging log
In some ways, Sydney is always the main character wherever she goes because she tends to always be the center of the attention. It’s not an intentional thing she does, but attempts to wean her into a higher level of self awareness tend to be a temporary solution.
On the plus side, getting Sydney on board with any given project is just a matter of finding the right hook. I’m not sure what they’ll use to get Sydney interested in marching about in formation. Stripes leaps to mind, but that movie doesn’t exactly promote the sort of military discipline they ultimately want to instill in her.
The Carter Special, for those of you who don’t know, was a custom prop made for Amanda Tapping because while the show did switch to P90’s for the reasons that Sydney spews, it eventually became difficult to get P90 props and blanks because of the Iraq war. It was a mishmash of three different guns. I thought it looked cool, especially because Carter usually had one of those hundred round Mickey Mouse-ear double drum clips. But it also had a 7″ barrel on it, so… might not be the greatest choice for engagements out past a hundred yards.
Anyway, here’s the obligatory “Carter dunking on Jaffa with a P90” scene from SG-1. I feel like I’ve probably linked this before, but it’s always fun to watch.
Vote incentive is updated. Xochitl’s just hanging out in the pool… with her bikini on. There’s a nude version over at Patreon. A few people mentioned it on the last one, so the nude version has some boob physics going on.
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like!
Ah, well. You didn’t mention that and I wasn’t interested in watching the entire lousy clip, so whatever…
If she thinks the slide bites she has now are bad, just wait and see what happens if Dabbler DOES hand her a SG-1 zat. The actors complained about the bites from those quite a bit. Protip: don’t build folding guns.
P90’s are capable of firing 5.56 NATO without modification; they just get better performance with the proprietary round
Point of order- You’re saying a submachine gun designed to fire a pistol-caliber cartridge measuring 40.5mm overall length and 7.95mm base diameter, can also chamber a 57.4 mm long, 9.58mm wide rifle cartridge? I’d like to see it try. (Especially since the 5.56 round generates 5,000psi higher pressure.)
I owned an FN Five-SeveN pistol for years, I am very familiar with the rounds, and I’m very familiar with the 5.56 round. There’s absolutely nothing in common between them other than the bullets both technically being 5.7mm in diameter. You couldn’t even handload a 5.56 bullet in a 5.7 case; the neck diameter is wrong.
Uh… No.
5.7x28mm.
5.56x45mm
Massive difference. Shoot one out of the other (somehow) and you get a FTF for next bullet or gun explodes.
or dabbler hands her a BFG 9000
Fun fact:
P90s are only rated to crack soft vests; contesting ceramic plates of III is for now out of the question.
This is extra hilarious to me because I always describe this comic as “Stargate SG-1 meets My Hero Academia with more ladies” to my friends.
Stargate SG-1 is the only reason I want a P90. I know it’s a mediocre weapon at best, plastic magazine jams too easy or cracks. Mostly plastic, is easy to break. Poor penetration of ammunition… Still, it’s the most sci-fi weapon you can get that is actually real and mostly affordable. Too bad I’d never be able to afford the Firearms License to purchase one… or pass the psych screening for it.
