Grrl Power #253 – Vehemence unleashes his mane attack!
Don’t worry, Anvil’s hair (and scalp) is strong enough so this doesn’t hurt her, but it is, let’s say, tactically non-optimal. Anvil has the longest hair on the team, it has a fair bit to do with her insecurity in her femininity due to her height (she taller than Stalwart, who is the tallest guy on the team) and musculature. If she knows she’s about to tussle, she’ll tie her hair up with securely, but obviously having nearly waist length hair is a liability.
I haven’t quite figured out what happens with Vehemence’s markings below the belt. I think it’s like a weird tramp stamp that splits and goes down the side of his legs, but I guess I’ll find out if I ever get a chance to draw it.
#makecomics: I feel sort of like I’m short changing you guys by putting up a page with only 5 panels, which is dumb cause that’s closer to what comics usually have, but since normally I have either like 9 panels or it’s a big double tall action page. Here’s what happened with this one. It was originally a double, but so was the one after it, and I’m just not fast enough to do two doubles in a row yet, so I wound up having to cut this page in to two separate pages. No big deal, that’s happened before, but then when I was working on the second half of this page, I thought of much better way to end it… which involved making it a double, meaning I had to scramble to get these done on time, but I think it’ll be worth it (not to oversell it or anything.)
Not comic related, but is anyone excited for Shadow of Mordor? It comes out on PC tomorrow. I don’t know when the console release is/was. I saw an E3 trailer or something a long time ago and was only mildly interested, but I watched this preview (which is an hour long BTW) and I thought it looked pretty hot, like one of the Batman: Arkhams meets, I dunno, Dishonored wrapped in a fantasy skin. Plus, anything with a skill tree and runes and crap you can upgrade your gear with pushes a few of my buttons. The fact that the warlords remember you (previousEncounter=1) and talk trash when you come at them again is cool and unfortunately rather novel. Personally I think more games should have cut scenes where the bad guys acknowledge that I, the protagonist, have in fact killed 800 henchmen at this point in the game, making me one of the most successful spree killers in history. I honestly don’t know when I’ll have time to play it, hopefully it lends itself to 30-60 minute play sessions, since I can’t devote a whole evening to games anymore.

I think the isdea of not leaning in is to avoid telegraphing that she is inviting direct physical attacks and thus not allowing her ability to be an unwelcomed surprise.
To that end, I do not know why she would block his attack that allowed him to grab her hair.
She misunderstood his target. She thought he was just going for a hit. Maybe she is not used to supers who feel secure enough in their masculinity to open up with open slaps, backhands, and hair pulling (or that aren’t interested in killing their opponents as he doesn’t seem to be?)
She thought (correctly) that he was going for a grab and she can’t absorb grabs but has trained for them.
Okay dokey, still she still didn’t seem to be expecting the hair as the target of the grab.
The block failed. She wasn’t strong enough.
The block ‘failed’ because he was aiming for her hair, not her face
The block did not fail; there was no block. Notice the words “jiu-jitsu!” in the panel?
What she was doing was deflecting the attack to the side with her right arm, and possibly preparing to grab his wrist with her left. This would have worked if the attack was a punch.
Unfortunately, yes, he was aiming a grab at her hair, so deflection was the wrong move to use.
Although, I do wonder why she would attempt to use a deflection in the first place. In her case, shouldn’t blocking always be the answer to a physical attack?
It depends on what you want your next move to be. If you deflect like she seems to be, that can leave your opponent vulnerable to a few more strikes, possibly breaking bones and ending the fight right there. Or if she’s worried he can project some kind of energy she can’t simply absorb a deflection would work rather than a straight block.
Not if he wants to grab her, as opposed to hitting her. Which is smart against a kinetic absorber. But she’s prepared for that, hence the jiu jitsu.
His apparent knowledge of her ability to absorb kinetic energy probably threw her off enough that she went for the redirect rather than the block. That and she had just gotten her ability turned against her by Death Toll, so she was probably still off from that.
I think this has gone ‘Fro enough.
He’s an air nomad!
Hmmm, his markings termini look more like the other ends of arrows, the fletching as drawn on crude “arrows” sometimes, so perhaps his philosophy, fighting style, or something is the reverse of an air nomads somehow?
Shouldn’t that be “hair” nomad?
So his toupée is trapped in an iceberg somewhere?
No, it’s definitely in Hades, as in “there will be hell toupee”.
…
You win.
That explains a lot about his appearance. Going to Hell would be a hair raising experience.
I’m sure he’s been involved in all sorts of hair-um scarum.
He doesn’t seem like a sort to give up easily, however…As bald as he is, I wouldn’t take him as the type to commit Hairy Kari.
The bald truth is he had to learn about the tip he is giving Anvil in a fight he only managed to win by a hair.
However, he considers that part of his life before he went bald as “ancient hairstory”.
That explains why he bristled when I spoke about his close shave. But those who forget the pate are domed to repeat it.
I think this has gone ‘Fro enough.
Now that you’ve mind that for all it’s worth, I must point out that someone’s going to try noggin you down a peg if you keep getting a-head of yourself like that. While he might claim his notoriety as a cranium-inal involved in skull-duggery as his crown-ing achievement, how many will recognize him as a former cook who only got involved in illegal activities because he kept getting low-bald when he tried to sell his world-famous recipe for scalped potatoes?
Any way you look at it, V is basically acting like a…Ummm…
To politely euphemize, “Richard Cranium” should cover it.
@ MidnightDStroyer: Third panel?
Having long hair is, in fact, a liability. I work in an agency that serves individuals with challenging behaviors. Two of my friends in this field have had chunks of hair yanked from their scalps, resulting in bald spots. I’ve read several other reports of staff being dragged to the ground and getting kicked, resulting in serious neck injuries.
I’ve long since resolved to always keep my hair so short that a handful is impossible to grab.
Yeah, ever since Roman times, formal military organizations have mandated very short hair…thus the “buzz cut” look often found on drill sergeants.
Aside the practical side of having short hair being unfit to be grabbed at, the unsanitary conditions in a war may grace you with lice or fleas – something that could be better addressed without long hair.
And then there is the issue with protective garb. Hard lessions are learned with gasmasks that are not tight enough due to excessive amounts of facial or head hair.
Alexander the great was a great shaving enthusiast for basically this reason, as big beards were quite the liability in close combat, yet many still kept long beards.
On the plus side, throwing her is not going to do Anvil any harm. Other than a loss of dignity. Presumably she will also be able to prevent any harm coming to whatever she hits, if she uses her power appropriately.
I just love Halo’s ongoing taunting by the way. Totally adoracutable. Despite having lost aggro to Anvil.
Well if she gets dizzy enough to launch a kinetic enhanced barf attack mr.Vehemence will lose some dignity points as well as anyone who get some on them.
Anvil: ugh *vomits while getting spun*
Maxima:Shit! Not again!
Arianna:can we cut that from the recording?
So Sydney is missing her bruise in both this update and the one while back. https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/1490 Perhaps others? Maybe someone should make an updating list like the list of enemy appearances/defeats that one of the commenters made a while back so DaveB knows where to go to find all the ones that need repair when he has the time.
I just know Maxima is gearing up for something awesome against this guy that requires her to suck points out of her super speed and that is why she is holding back while the others get him truly engaged and distracted. She wouldn’t still be doing the training thing. Not against this guy…… please no………….
Sydney did an excellent job. It may be risky but at least this is the most heavily tested power she has to date. Now hopefully since she still has the light hook orb in her hand she will go for a grab of Anvil (she may not be fast enough though).
Hopefully Dabbler is taking advantage of all of this to get one of my favorite “crap they are a bit to powerful for me” spells: Grease. Negate some of that speed and give folk some more time to cook up something better. Grease + Light Hook = He definitely could use some more face plants.
Syd shield absorbed a shock wave that liquefied a tank. At this point we can’t be sure it has a limit.
Little iffy on what his level is other than he watched that tank be kicked around and then liquified and thought, “I need me some of that action!” :D
Max has to be careful to go super fast she has to drop her super durability. That’s been working out for her up to now, as when she’s super fast no one has been able to hit her. But if he’s able to match her super speed she could be killed before she goes back to being durable.
I think she’s allowing Archon to fight him for the same reason he watched while the mob rushed Archon. She wants to figure his powers out.
One way or another the battle will end if she drops her durability and goes strength or speed. If he’s not as fast/strong as her she can take him down. If he is the total Max package, and not just one at a time, then she hast to withdraw the team, they couldn’t take on a SuperMax calibre opponent.
In a very real way, this was always one on one. If the throng had defeated Archon save for Max she still would have thrashed them all. Vehemance is apparently in her league, or at least he might be. She’s being very cautious.
Based off what I’ve seen/read, I don’t think we’ve really seen Max move points around or use more than her base level of power. All of her abilities are 5’s without drawing on her reserves or shuffling points, based off how I’m interpreting her stats on the cast page.
Yeah, your correct about the base and probably about the not seeing her shift points as well. Its difficult to say if she works hard to keep her overclocked ability secret or if she went ahead and used it at the press conference explosion cause that message was that important…
Apparently its normally all 5’s, then she has a reserve tank to supercharge one ability, then she can overclock one ability by absorbing a few points off all the others. Presumably this guy is also mostly 5’s in at least durability and strength. Mild super speed?? No apparent flight… yet. And a general foreshadowing of some ability to “power up” or something? So her reserve may be enough to get past whatever his “best” power is.
Don’t know what she is waiting for but perhaps her superspeed and flight are being used to get squishies and prisoners even farther from the mane event?
max’s stats are all 3 normally with a pool to lift one or more to 4 and by lowering others to 1 or 2 can boost target stat to 5 according to daveB in prior post
I vaguely recall that now that you mention it. Hope he puts it in the cast page at some point for easy reference. Thank you.
Hey, here’s an idea for future bits…..
Max hits Anvil, Anvil absorbs the k.e., Anvil hits badguy same time as Max.
Infact if Anvil can store k.e. for a good long time, then it might be a good idea to have her charged up every morning by someone in the group. That way she has a ‘nose boop’ ready in case the first badguy she encounters doesn’t try to hit her. i.e. attempt at mind control.
They hit him simultaneously in the back because he is desperately focused on trying to thump that annoying Sydney!!
Her who’s who does say she is the teams punching bag(s). So she probably has a little charge most days after training when she hasn’t just left from showing off at a press conference to go eat a meal in a nice outfit. But after this they may step it up a bit until the paranoia wears off.
Of course that would also mean she is charged to near Maxima levels (I’m kind of assuming she tanks out before reaching Maxima levels) when BB (the super villain Brain Bleach) gets the drop on them and mind controls her.
If mind control is a power in this world you don’t want to charge Anvil until you know it isn’t a factor in a particular fight.
It is , at least Dabbler used a kind of Mind Control
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/1432
If anvil is a kenetic absorber cant she absorb the energy of being thrown or is she limited to force thrown at her
A throw would be non-direct thus not applicable. Math was able to throw her and he is a mere muggle.
Do you remember the part where Math threw Concretia and what he said then?
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/1311
But your point is correct. She doesn’t seem able to absorb being tossed around.
She is being thrown by a guy who didn’t want her to absorb his kinetic impact Mr. Bovine Fedornit forgot physics “Every cause has an opposite reaction = to or < to the original action." meaning the Kinnetic force of Anvil Hitting the Ground or a wall, or a car plus the velocity and speed she is being thrown at. I'd say she just absorbed a hell of a lot of Kinnetic Impact.
Don't have long hair in battles, but don't throw people either. in anvils case What doesn't kill her Makes her VERY MUCH stronger.
the key thing being she hasn’t been thrown YET. He realizes she will absorb the impact, but without a travel power, he can throw her into the next county and effectively write her off. I’ve done it to many annoying regenerating werewolves in the rifts rpg. they only get hurt by silver, but using a giant robot to throw them 14 miles still takes them out of the fight.
If he throws her far enough the strength boost from the impact when she hits won’t matter because she won’t be able to get back before the party’s over.
Somehow I get it that she is kinda sad for not finding someone taller than her that is also a nice guy… hehehe
Quick! How tall is Zebra the Barberian?
Yes! They need to get him on work release or way lesser charges or something so he can use his super powers to do the super ladies hair. THIS MUST HAPPEN!!!!!
the point is he’s a nice guy to the best of our knowledge but we hit a snag in he doesn’t seem to be tall enough relative to the other supers to be taller than anvil.
I wonder what would happen if Sydney lighthooked him again right now.
He’d be wound up like a top!
she already has him rather wound up
I can honestly say that having long hair does suck in a fight but if she ends up getting her hair damaged from this fight I suggest going for a 1940s style cut. I understand her insecurities about her femininity brought on by her appearance, so one of the many 1940s short cuts might work. They are fun and flirty and even at a nice party like she was at the way it’s styled doesn’t require a lot of work. With a little moose and maybe a bobby pin the look goes from flirty to sophisticated with minimal effort.
Well, if I saw someone with a moose in her hair it would sure get my attention. The antlers could allow a guy she meets at a bar to legitimately come up to her and say “Hey, nice rack!”
But what if it bites him? Moose bites can be nasty.
It seems to me that Vehemence isn’t so much trying to eliminate the team as to try to teach them a lesson. I would guess that Maxima’s boast was just a little too much for him to pass without making a response. If he was seriously trying to kill any of them he probably could have done so a while ago and without his little monologue. He honestly seems to like Sydney and so far into his fight with Anvil, he’s revealed that he already knows her powers and yet he still is going for non-lethal (it seems), but still humiliating.
Yea, I doubt he’s here to kill them. Just beat the crap out of them. Show them who’s boss.
Though offcourse, he’s also not going to limit his own powers just to make sure some squishy guy doens’t die. He’s just not TRYING to kill you
…I don’t think the next corpse he leaves behind will appreciate that much…
I just can’t see Vehemence as a villain lol. He goes out of the way to wait until they have taken all the others out, gets help for whoever the guy was… can’t remember who but the one with injured ribs. It almost feels to me like he is trying to prepare them for something. Dunno, could be my imagination, I have been told I look too far in to things.
Just because he’s not evil, doesn’t mean he’s not still a criminal.
He’s probably a very nice guy, IF you are his friend.
He’s also smart. He waited to let his minions take out the weaker Arc guys, and he observed and learned all their powers. Arc still doesn’t have a clue what his powers are, other than that he’s pritty strong, and aperently has high protection. But they don’t even know how far that goes.
Knowledge is power, and in that respect, Vehemence has a huge advantage over Arc right now
As Zangief would say, “Vehemence, you are bad guy, but this does not mean you are bad … guy.”
Yeah, he’s mostly Chaotic Neutral, I think. He’s not evil – he just doesn’t care about the rules, or anything but his own desires.
That still can make him very dangerous and someone you wouldn’t want around, but he’s not actually out to hurt anyone. (Though he doesn’t care if they do get hurt – it’s just not a goal.)
That said, he’s still a villain, because in general society (and Archon) is lawful. To many people confuse lawful and good – they are separate things, and the fact that he’s not opposed to good doesn’t mean he’s not opposed to law.
I think you might be going a little overboard by declaring him non-evil at this point. Remember, this is a character who’s had so far the equivalent of maybe two minutes of screen time.
Point taken. ;)
Willie Sutton
The way he slapped his remaining teammates unconscious could instead indicate that he was simply waiting to see if the heroes were strong enough to present him with a challenging battle. Like Akuma from the Street Fighter franchise.
Mordor releases on consoles tomorrow, too.
10 points if he tosses her in Achilles’s brick pile.
Bonus if she then bashes Vehemence over the head WITH Achilles.
What I’m waiting for is the advent of the strategy “Hey Max, punch anvil a bunch.” That thought first occurred to me when I read the bit, I think in Sydney’s Bio, that went something like “Her familiarity with comic books leads her to coming up with unconventional strategies that the team hadn’t thought of. The team beating up on one of their own to power her up seems like a pretty good one, though they may have thought of it already.
This seems like an excellent spot to debut it since Vehemence is obviously not going to directly hit her.
some people with long hair who want to keep it that way adapt. for example braiding a leather strap with something pointy into it. that way if someone grabs the hair they also get a handful of pain.
of course some people ignore the pain buuut they muss up their hand by grabbing the pointy hair anyway.
I doubt you could make points that are sharp and strong enough to bother someone who walks through a rock tornado, and is though enough that the rocks turn to dust.
He’d just crush the points without feeling them
I wonder if the team is making the old “attack-the-dangerous-guy-one-by-one”-mistake or if thats strategy? Sidney even mentioned something like teamwork on the last page!
Well they made that mistake against Death Toll, until Sydney was smart enough to stop them.
So you’d hope that they learned
Some of that’s probably not “Archon tactics” so much as “boy it’s hard to draw six people in one panel and have it look right.” The time expense to make a crowd-fight is…severe. Seriously, one panel of everyone hitting FWTDT could have taken like four hours of art. Having them stand in a line after the fact…I really understand why an artist would prefer that option, when it doesn’t detract too much from the story.
OK, molestorb forms a squiggle shape and drops into Anvil’s path. Anvil recharged and still in fight and no other supers damaged.
Anvil then turns on Vehemence as does the rest of the team. Sydney continues to flail Anvil with molestorb to keep Anvils’ power up.
And, occasionally, just for fun, Sydney slaps the molestprb strand across Vehemences’ eyes, temporarily blinding him….and/or tripping him, intercepting punches, etc.
Possibly even hook Achilles with it and use him as a flail.
I love the molestorb.
Is the molestorb strong enough to just wrap around Vehemence and subdue him? If it’s as powerful as her shield, it just might be. Or grab him around the ankle and lift him up to be a punching bag.
We don’t know the limits of the light hook yet. Sydney has mostly been using it to deflect. She grabbed one guy and bounced him off the ground but he didn’t look oversized like the bricks do here. It’s more a matter of her not thinking to try a bind tactic or grab and lift. Given Sydney she’s more likely to poke him in the eye or ear to cause V to flinch rather than just punch him.
we know that the Molestorb i strong enough to pick up a vehicle so it should be able to do Brody’s thing.
so her powers are the same as Sebastian Shaw of the hellfire club. does that not mean that swinging her like that is also generating absorbable kinetic energy?
I think in Anvil’s case, it needs to be directed at her, possibly in a direct line. In this case, she’s being subjected to a force, but it is not aimed at her at all.
the Air pushing on her as she swings round will get absorbed. Dave has mentioned that just walking normally will charger her up.
Walking charges her up?
Interesting.
Though, as has been mentioned, just throwing her away would work.
Alternatively, I wonder if he can throw at escape velocity…. ?
well she gets a “trickle” from her footsteps striking the ground, it might be enough to MAINTAIN her current Strength (whatever that is at the moment) but not enough to INCREASE her strength.
That sounds more plausible
It would depend if her hair can transit the energy to the rest of her. Possibly not. Either way the amount of energy being expended grab isn’t much. The swinging is all potential and won’t go kinetic until she actually impacts something. This gives Vehemence the ability to send her flying and get her out of the fight for the immediate term. If he can fling her far enough she’ll have issues getting back in time to meaningfully contribute. She’s one of the issue fighters for Vehemence since he can’t just punch her out and she’ll try to block for more vulnerable ArcSWAT. Once some of the others are down, he could put her in a choke-hold without getting interrupted.
Since she’s already in motion, her energy is kinetic, not potential. The issue is that she doesn’t absorb all kinetic energy, only kinetic energy from direct impacts (including the impact of her feet on the ground).
I just realized how hairy Sydney’s eyebrows are!
Those aren’t her eyebrows, those are her bangs.
She’ll be played by Peter Capaldi in the movie.
New idea on how to deal with him……
Syd gets Lighthook wrapped around his torso and 1 of 2 things happen.
1) She just suspends him in the air. This is dependant on if he can fly and if he could pull at Lighthook and tear it off/apart.
2) Squeeze his ribs so he can’t breath, then after he passes out let go.
Some simple ideas for use now and later.
For all your brain + brawn needs, call VEHEMENCE, for supervillainy for the 21st century!
If faced with a guy like Vehemence, I think I’d… turn the ground to dust beneath him. Fine dust. A BIG, DEEP pit’s worth of it. When he tries to jump or climb out, the dust would shift under his movements, drawing him further down. It would possibly get in his eyes, blinding him. And eventually, he’d surrender so as to be hauled out before he could choke on the stuff.
Yeah good idea, just find a superhero that specializes in destabilizing matter at range
Speaking of Shadow of Mordor, here’s a live action trailer by Corridor Digital. They make good stuff, so imma spread the word about them :D
https://youtu.be/5xK7e0-_3oQ?list=UUsn6cjffsvyOZCZxvGoJxGg
Two things here. First, feel sorry for poor Math. Because Math is missing Anvil’s potential panty flashing! Of course, he’d have a real chance of exsanguination from his injury…
Second, twirling Anvil gives Vehemence something important. She serves as a shield against ranged attacks, like Max’s particle beam or Peggy shooting him (depending where she’s setting up her next shot). Plus he’s fast enough that he might be able to prevent charge-ups if Max or Stalwart try it.
Also thought of a future Anvil tactic. Why doesn’t she just do a flying kick to start things? So long as the target’s not on fire or covered in spines, this would serve two things. First, if she succeeds, she can do damage (and get aggro) due to her considerable base strength. But secondly, she’s going to charge up, either from the kick landing (Because Isaac Newton is the deadliest sonnavabitch in the universe!) or from someone knocking her aside.
Really, Anvil needs to be proactive in charging up. Make yourself a target by literally leaping into the fray.
flying kick is a really high risk move, esp if you a can’t maneuver in midair b don’t know what your opponent do( he might spit acid for all they know) or your opponent has already shown himself to be really fast.
See the fate of Bruce Lee’s character in Marlowe. Perfect form on the kick but James Garner ducks and over the railing many floors above the street goes Mr. Lee.
Over the railing and down ten floors would be a nice kinetic charge, but it would take her a little bit to come back up, unless she can leap. And I do acknowledge the acid being an issue, but that may be an issue no matter what. The downside of pulling aggro, after all.
I think Math has had all the free peeks he can take for one night.
Hey everybody, be aware of the new vote incentive, the rainbow girls are now colored :)
I wonder if she is going to recharge off the kinetic energy her boobs should be showing, but is obviously being absorbed instead?
I’d like to think it was a not epic, but still significant amount of kinetic energy, there… hopefully someone else will provide that kind of fan service when the artist learns to draw boob motion…
P.S.: boob motion makes a hard panel to draw on — ohh, triple pun!!
The line actually continues, unbroken, from his lower back to…his tongue.
This has been Karishi’s Horrible Headcanon Corner.
Please pass the brain bleach.
Oh lordy! Blue tonsils. Pynch, if there’s any bleach left could I borrow a cup?
Yes, a little. Maybe he’s some sort of high tech Frankenstein’s monster :)
Ops, intended to be a reply to https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/1493/comment-page-1#comment-255019
hey! anvil is up! when did that happen? i tought FWTBT knocked her out. its its only been( what i’m assuming) a few minutes. is that enough for her to be up and about and ready to fight again?
She didn’t get knocked out, she passed out from having all the stored energy drained from her at once, which she isn’t used to. Knocked out, you usually have to come to on your own or have a shock like water thrown on you, sudden shout, or chemical help (adrenalin shot or those smelling salts they used to use on boxers). Passed out you can be woken up, with mostly no ill effects, more gently.
You can see her getting to her feet in the last panel three pages ago, here: https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/1487
shouldn’t he remember the demonstration? so why is he munching the indestruct-o-sheild
! his punch has higher psi then then a multi megaton explosion shock wave.
or 2 he was so mad at being triped he forgot.
Explosion could have been all flash, so to speak, and he probably wanted to test it for himself. Seeing something and experiencing it first hand are two very different things.
the glowing marks make me think his powers are magical or magically enhanced. for all his bravado I noticed that he 1 waited for everyone to get a least a little hurt/tired
2 he has seen everyone in action
3 deathtoll was down
if he was really that confident he’d attack their head quarters around 11ish who ever is behind this is pretty smart if all goes as planed they’ll get rid of the competition and opposition. That being the case they’ve probably planed for failure as well.
It would neat if one of dabbler’s succubus relatives, I assume she has a big family succubi being sex demons and all, were the ones who magiced up vehemence
interestingly enough most demon stories hold sex demons as almost sterile and or needing a very special situation to have kids making family size small
Yeah, the original stories had succubi harvesting men’s ‘seed’, so that they could give it to women and have children. The demons themselves were totally infertile: They needed both a human ‘father’ and a human ‘mother’ to have children, with the demon just being a pass-through from one to the other.
refered to birth of additional demons exclusively and while some stories include tainting the relayed seed most insist on a major magic / spiritual event to create a new one.
thank you all for focusing on the least reverent part of the least important section of my comment
once he let’s her go , or her hair breaks/pulls out, won’t anvil sbsorb the impact when she lands/hits some thing?
yes charge on impact but a charged anvil 10 miles away does nothing for the team as she will take time returning to the fight.
I have a feeling that he has some plan to remove her from the fight if only temporarily. Possibly just throwing her far enough that she will need to call for a ride to get back.
Shadow of Mordor looks pretty cool but like all games of this type there will be much DLC so I am going to wait for a pack that includes all of the content before I pick it up.
Updates this size are fine and I actually prefer them, thanks. You still have a lot of issues with pacing (as you are obviously aware) and I’d rather see those issues get better than have bigger updates.
If you really feel bad about it, feel free to update five days a week.
And so it begins. This should be funny to watch him waste the entire team.
Let’s not call the team wasted before he’s beaten even one superhero.
That’s why Azlanfox said “And so it begins.”
” it has a fair bit to do with her insecurity in her femininity due to her height (she taller than Stalwart,”
Great, now I have in my minds eye, someone turning around and running into Anvil at their eye height and saying “What manner of trickery is this?! Obviously it is some form of soft force field! Wait, I got this!”
And she’s staring down, face scrunched, at the top of their head.
Good comeback for when she catches you looking at her boobs.
Anvil: Eyes are up here buddy!
You: I’m sorry but my neck cant look up that high.
I should admit that I have found myself in just that kind of situation, and anything you say, or not say as the case may be is cause for damage being inflicted on you.
And sometimes it’s just best to keep your trap shut and accept your fate.
Like I did when my best friends cousin stood right behind me, and stared at the top of my head when I turned around and stepped forward..
“Captain, we seem to have impacted something. Optical sensors can’t quite make it out. Surface sensors can’t make heads or tails of it.” -brain failing me that day.
“Heh, you’re short.” -voice at the top of my head.
*Insert spine shiver of dread here*
Heh

That would be Sydney if she hadn’t been introduced to Anvil before running into her.
“Not doing Anvil any damage.” I don’t know about that. She defiantly doesn’t look too comfortable in that ride she’s in.
Damage no. Embarrasment too much. Any bet she jumped in before Max could say don’t do it?
Looks like Super spaze hasn’t learned her lesson about poking the bear yet. Like to see Vehemence slam Anvil ageist her force field a few times. See witch side looses first.
She did learn it. The lesson is, “It works.”
Shore it works. Right up to the point were the bear gets it’s hands on you. Then you’re fucked and you got no one to blame but yourself. As Spaze girl showed she can’t stay in there forever.
Evidently, some people are reading a different comic than the rest of us, Brian.
It would just power her up and give Sydney more opportunities to dick with him (tentacle style) at close range (or just shoot him in the foot with the PPO) while Anvil uses the extra energy to try to break loose or poke him in the eyes. All this time the other team mates are getting their ideas for opening gambits off the ground.
It would work better if he threw her at a squishier ARCie so any energy she gains would be offset by a lost team mate.
Surprised no ones thought of just grabbing the tentacle and yanking her into her own force field. Or just send her flying.
thought of and debated if the whole shield would move with her or if she wouldn’t be movable by pulling on the orbs or if syd would just deform the hetiaorb leaving him no leverage
The henticle is as long as she needs it to be. Someone pulls she’ll push, hard.
Maxima couldn’t move Sidney a single centimeter when she tried to do it via the orbs.
Grabbing the tentacle would probably be no different, and Sidney could probably just extend its reach anyways.
That was moving the Orbs, not Sydney, and Sydney has shown that she can move within the bubble without it moving with her
