We’ll return to Dabbler’s Science Corner next week, there’s still plenty to talk about concerning Harem’s powers, but for now, I found this meme on DeviantArt and thought it’d be a fun project. I broke the rules a little, I needed to use smaller blocks than what it calls for so I could fit more on it, and there’s still tons I left out, like Dungeons and Dragons and video games in general, but I stuck mostly to stuff that’s had a direct influence on my art and humor.
I was expecting Boris Vallejo or Frank Frazetta to be in there somewhere but that just might be my age showing.
Oh definitely, Boris and all the early D&D artists like Elmore had an impact on me, but I don’t know how much they influenced my art since they were such good painters and I was still learning my proportions. It was the subject matter more than their art at that point I think.
I remember buying some art books by these artists with a lot of sketches and pencil drawings {mostly to copy sans clothes the females) when I thought I might have some talent.
Check the artist on a full-size print of that Star Wars poster and you’ll find your Boris influence right there.

Johji Manabe!
Right on. I was re-reading Outlanders just a week ago.
Also, woot for Masahiko Nakahiri. His Cammy’s fantastic.
Nice. I love or at least like all of those. Well, I love Aliens. Not any of the other movies in the franchise however. Empowered rules.
About 1/3 of your influences also have some on me, although I have never done the exercise of estimating how much. And more than 1/3 I have never even heard of! :-D
In this game, you play as a skilled drift driver, tasked with completing various challenging drift courses. Drift Boss

It is estimated that around one-third of your effects have an impact on me as well, but I have never attempted to quantify the extent of that impact. Moreover, more than one-third of them are entirely unknown to me! :-D
