Hear me now! Believe me later!
Hey I was on a podcast! I went to the Dallas Comic Con – didn’t do much, just wandered around the floor once, then spent 2 hours in line waiting to buy some stuff from Amanda Conner, and happened to be standing next to this spazzy girl dressed as Rose Red.
Anyway turns out she does a weekly podcast with 2 other gals called the Nerd Girls Eye View where they mostly nerd out about comic related things. I mentioned that I did a webcomic and bam, a few weeks later, podcast. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, I tend to ramble on rather verbosely… which would probably explain why it took over 30 comics to introduce a second main character – hopefully I don’t sound like too much of a dork in it. There’s no spoilers in it – I talk a little about some of the characters that haven’t shown up in the comic yet, but there’s no information there that you can’t find on the cast page.
I listened to the podcast just now. (yes you did show your inner Nerd). But, you mentioned that Maxima was your universe’s Superman. On a Scale of Power; as ranked by Old Wizard here: https://www.old-wizard.com/top-20-most-powerful-superheroes-of-all-time , Superman is weaker then Thor. I am a Thor Fan myself. not that that i have had a chance to go out an purchase any comics with him in it. But I am a big fan him from my time spent researching Norse Mythology. But to rank Maxima up there with them, would be a BIG STEP. as said in the Section written for Thor, He has been able to make he Juggernaut move backwards. And he can swing Mjolnir at twice the speed of light. (then again, he’s a God… so you can’t really beat that)
But even though you said that, you probably just meant that she could pretty much beat anything she goes against in a fight. But as a fun bit of research for you to look up. go to the marvel website and do a superhero search for Squirrel Girl. Have fun. Insane, fuzzy, overpowered fun. You might thank/kill me later.
Yeah, I wasn’t considering cross universe comparison, you’re right, I just meant that she’s basically the flagship powerhouse of my ‘verse. As strong as Superman, and as fast, but because of how her power pool works, she can’t do both at once. She does have some attributes that would honestly make me bet on her if those two fought, but you’ll have to stay tuned for that stuff. If she found herself in the Marvelverse, she’d basically be the equivalent of their gold standard for any given attribute, so, as strong as Thor, but probably not as strong as the Hulk or the Juggernaut.
Then again. Thor is Stronger than Hulk, as Thor always holds back when he fights Hulk. He does not want to hurt Bruce Banner. He can Reignite dead stars, and can summon force fields to hold the Hulk in place. Turn those fields up a notch and compress them, and he can incinerate The Hulk. The Hulk Rarely wins against Thor, as Thor ALWAYS seems to force him to retreat. So saying Hulk is Stronger than Thor, is not quite Valid. take a look at their abilities and how they work. Hulk needs to be angry, while Thor can use his powers at anytime.
Also Thor is always focused on CONTAINING Hulk so he doesn’t do anything stupid when they fight. so control Vs Anger.
Well, it’s hard to really say who is stronger. Thor has a better win loss record but only because he’s usually the good guy when they fight, given that the Hulk is just as likely to be the bad guy when he’s in berserk mode, but the issue with American comics is that even things that ar canon aren’t canon the minute a new writer takes over, which is like every 6 issues. I saw Thor fight the Juggernaut once and Thor couldn’t touch him, he chucked Mjolinr (sp?) at him and it just went “dink” when it hit, then in another comic, I saw Venom punch the Juggernaut through a wall which is just stupid and the writer and editor basically weren’t doing their jobs, but my point is that citing a single instance of the one beating the other doest really establish a pecking order between them. Thors got a lot of powers and he’s probably the better bet in a fight but on just the strength attribute goes the Hulk’s got Thor beat. His strength is basically unlimited – even if you’ve got to get him ticked off before he can access it. My point in the podcast was that in a straight strength v. Strength contest, say arm wrestling, Maxima would be equivalent to any give ‘vers’s headliner.
but, you know that DC HAS a superstrong female named Maxima. Right?
As far as I can tell, she’s a barely ever used throw away love interest for superman. I could be wrong but the limited research I did gave me that impression. Whatever the case is, its a waste of a cool name.
You would be right about Maxima. She never had any other agendas to give her more of purpose. If DC was a bit more craetive they could have used her like Marvel used The Black Cat with Spiderman. Have Maxma save Superman’s life a couple of times or try to help him fight some major villan to create a “What If they was together scenerio.
