Grrl Power #341 – Absentoeism
If there isn’t a comic about Evil Dead called the Necronomicomic, there should be. It’s a horribly missed opportunity otherwise. There should also be a convention for the Necronomicomic, called, of course, the Necronomicomicon.
Peggy usually has a sense of humor about her leg, cause the alternative is to be bummed out about it all the time. Her personal favorite is making a joke that would have been inappropriate coming out of someone else’s mouth, just to get that moment of tense silence while everyone figures out if it’s ok to laugh. There are limits though. Her reaction to Heatwave might have been a little cold – she might have been more sympathetic if Heatwave could no longer drive stick.
I designed all of Peggy’s tattoos myself (there’s not much to them really, mostly lots of stars, stripes and eagles) but her back tattoo is pretty ok, if still a work in progress. If you want a better look at it, check it out on the DA page.

I used to laugh my ass off at the last panel, but I’ve since been diagnosed with diabetes and lost the big toe on my left foot. You have no idea how bad that messes with your balance. Heatwave is going to be falling alot and in all seriousness, it isnt funny. But this is a comic and its hilarious!
Mike Conner: Fortunately, Heatwave lost the middle toe, not the big one, so she doesn’t have it as bad as you. The little toes are virtually vestigial, it’s the prehensile one that is an important part of being bipedal. I’m sorry for your loss, but I think DaveB cleared the Awkward Divide with that choice.
just noticed that peggy ink on her hair is fading a little there on top
Just new to reading this, but Peggy’s choice for a spiderweb on her elbow should be explained in comic sometime as it has a very deep connection to racism in the USA. Had a co-worker friend who shared that info with me, he himself had it on him and he didn’t know it’s connotation before getting it, later he altered it to be a star. I am not assuming it is bad, but the meaning is there and most tattoos I’ve noticed have a story.
I just drew it cause… what else do you get a tattooed on an elbow? People have said it was primarily a prison thing, but honestly I’ve mostly forgot to add it in subsequent pictures of her.
Peggy: “Sorry Heatwave. I have actual sisters, and even we don’t do uninvited naked wet hugs. (Actually I’m not very sorry.)”
