Grrl Power #256 – Tactical shift
That was an impressive hit, but if anything Vehemence seems to be picking up steam. I would have liked to soften that up a little by starting with a panel of him reeling a bit from the tumble, or at least Anvil’s chin smash, but that’s not the critical point of the page. The fact that Maxima is finally coming down from on high is.
Getting her face right in the last panel was important. I wanted her to look just the tiniest bit crazy and/or excited. Not steepled fingers crazy, just the realization that she’s going to get to cut lose on someone. Normally panels like that where someone’s wearing a subtle expression take me several tries, but I managed to knock out something pretty close to what I wanted on the first try, (not including the usual juking around the eyes to make them even and stuff like that, so… yay!
Here’s the link to the new comments highlighter for chrome, and the GitHub link which you can use to install on FireFox via Greasemonkey. I’ll make a permanent link for those somewhere on the page eventually.

What is thaumion? Anything like thaumium in minecraft….?
The sub-atomic particle of magic? What’s known as the ‘Thaum’ in Discworld.
She looks like Nathan Explosion again….
Also, I would’ve personally used Harry Dresden for your little aside at the bottom, but he’s not so well-known, I suppose. A shame, that.
You. You, I like.
Still enjoying the comic ^_^ Haven’t had much to say that others haven’t already said, though, and what little I have that’s original I held back for the archive binge. That’s one pro of being 10 pages from the present. The main con: No more reading 190 new pages in a day T_T
Nah. You gotta save the Dresden reference for the first time the team accidentally sets a building on fire.
Deus Ex Maxima. I love it. :’D
Right? It’s clever wordplay, meta-humor, and a pretty cool ship name all in one!
Okay, so Dabbler’s spells say Save a Lotta Cuties, and I find it adorable, but no ones mentioned it?
