Grrl Power #14 – The 8th or 9th Most Dangerous Game
Sydney has remarkably low tolerance for the hard case nerds considering she owns a comic shop. Or really anyone who makes a habit of coming in and giving her a hard time really. She’s really more of a “ooh I can read everything for free and think of the discount” person than a “just think of all the interesting people I’ll meet in retail” person.
She’s scary :S
Hmmmm.
Are you sure Sydney isn’t a super villain?
Sydney talks a big talk, we’ll see if she walks the walk later on.
She reminds me of my friends….. Good times!
yes its never a good idea to anger a nerd especialy a cute one wiht a penchant for violence and human hunting for sport
…
I want that first panel on a coffee cup.
I want the last panel on a mug, myself…
Heh, I know how she feels, guys like the one she dealt with makes me want to shove a fireball up their ass.
But it would be lots of fun, even just scaring the pants off him.
She just has a low tolerance for idiots who don’t listen to her. I can relate.
But without idiots who don’t listen we would not have anyone left working government jobs or running big multinational conglomerates.
Intelligence = / = power over the stupid
Remember this world is run by the stupid, for the stupid … yadda yadda yadda
Well, this stupid is unable to read properly…
Can’t say I blame her as Brad seemed to trust a guy’s word over hers.
I’ve noticed that Joel’s hair changes colors sometimes (The lil’ spike action going on in the bang area) and does he has a bald spot??
Yeah that tuft in the front is sometimes brown and sometimes a shade of gray. I couldn’t decide how to make it stand out but I should have been more consistent about it.
Bald spot FTW!!!
That’s the first time I’ve seen a young male with a bald spot actually shown in any media. Mad props
Thanks. It’s probably a giveaway that I’m a bit older for me to draw that in there. I’m not balding at all (thanks mom and dad) but I have a few friends who aren’t faring as well. Both Joel and Syndey were kind of my first attempts at drawing people who didn’t look like superheroes or at least Olympic athletes, and I was trying to give them attributes that were a little more every man.
… So that is what that strange mark is. I was wondering.
Is it supposed to be central on his head or not? I can’t tell.
Necropost fun: I’ve observed multiple styles of balding as I worry about my future hairline. Both are real styles of balding. To me it looks like Joel has the “go bald from the hair spiral thingy” going on, and has two spirals to start from thus the rounded rectangular bald spot… One of my uncles has that.
Serial killers don’t necessarily do it “for fun” but some think they are doing it for “the good of humanity” or because that is their impulse. Vigilantism of that nature would make one a villain even if they thought themselves a hero while doing it.
I’m just reading through from the start again for all the little clips Dave left…and I am wondering, anyone else get the literary reference? “The Most Dangerous GAme” is actually a book, and there’s at least one movie made from it…two, I think; I think there’s bot a b/w one AND one in color…

Yes either book or movie of the same name. What the whole “Predator” series is about. The fact that humans have no predators other than themselves. Most animals only hunt us under certain conditions. Not like Whitley Strieber‘s “Wolfen” who evolved from wolves specifically to hunt and eat humans.
syd forgets in comic worlds geeks = collections (comic game figurine or other memerabilia) plus any cash and cards in the wallet boost it by car sales and you don’t have money worries by my experience dealing with knights and criminals after my collection of princesses/treasure. hmmm I’m a geek.
I love the pun with “most dangerous game” at the end. I was hoping for a reference! :)
Oh, am I the only one reminded of Weregeek? (weregeek.com) Funny coincidence or maybe funny reference???
And now I’m picturing her in a fishnet shirt and whatever little else Predators normally wear. Sidney’s just the right kind of crazy. The hot kind!
Yes, I agree, Sydney is hot and a dangerous young lady. Never know what she will do next.
Hunting nerds could be dangerous if there weregeeks :) i like that webcomic
hahh i get the reference to the most dangerous game. :P
is he bald!?
It is a bald spot, he isn’t bald.
Wait. Is that a play on the title of that short story, The Most Dangerous Game? If so, I applaud you. It is a great short story.
I protest to the statement at the bottom of the comic! Do you have any idea how many nerds are well prepared for a Zombie Apocolypse!!! A fair number of them, and we know how to defend ourselves when need be! at lease me and my pack of nerd/geek friends all know how to.
The good thing about such preparedness is that you could be ready for any other more expected apocalyptic happening like nuclear melt down, flooding, drought, wild weather, atomic tornadoes and such. Oh and all the power going out from an X level solar flare.
Now you’ve really got me “curious” as to how she would look in a fishnet shirt…..
I vote for a “Sydney As Predator” special.
Love the Most Dangerous Game reference. We just finished reading that earlier this year.
Yes, let’s see Sydney in a fishnet shirt… :)
Sydney seems to be quite a difficult person and does not like customers who are too demanding or who have a habit of looking at books without buying. She probably would rather read books for free and always look for discounts instead of enjoying meeting interesting people at her store.
