Grrl Power #12 – The Passion of the Nerd
I’m sure every industry has overzealous customers, I mean if you run a tool store there are probably people who come in and care way too much about tools and only talk about them, linger at the counter all day, know way too much about them, debate models, etc. I don’t frequent tool stores so I don’t know, I’m just assuming.
“Hay Joel is murder still illegal?” Best comeback I’ve herd in a while.
Sydney looks super adorable in this comic, but insistent comic fan is hot! Is he a self-portrait a bit? :3 If he doesn’t become a recurring background character I’m going to throw a fit.
Woman you know I go to the gym. Now 7 or 8 years ago I might have been as heavy as him but that was a long time ago.
Azazelle…
Obviously a future super villain.
The Otaku and his sidekick the Preteen Nico-nico.
wow this comic is different i like it
Why does he remind me of noobs I saw in World of Warcraft when I used to play…?
Dam she is funny with that is murder still illegel line
Man, I am loving all of the references in this comic.
Sydney’s hair tucked behind her ear switches in the last panel.
That probably happens more than I’d like to admit.
hey just realized new addit to the always expect ninjas shirt line, syd (or other super of choice) saying is murder still illegal.
I think, in the context of EXTREMELY annoying customers such as this, that at the very least, severe assault would be justifiable …
I want the T-shirt.
“Oh a signed copy. That will be expensive, since it’s limited run. Let me check the files” – rumages around on computer for 10 minutes. Ok that’ll be 75 grand, payable in advance. Will that be cash or bank cheque?
That’s right folks for a limited time today only murder is now legal.
Back in the day when I was doing this, my ***favorites*** were the ones who would come in, show a diamond order form, ask us to order it (ALWAYS something from a really small publisher), and when told it wasn’t available would ask why not.
Our standard reply was to dig out something that indicated the publisher had gone out of business before release, or dig out a years worth of order forms and show them it Diamond had been offering it as available next month for a year or so.
This inevitably burned 10 or 15 minutes and then they wouldn’t want to buy anything else… Sometimes I miss it; much more often I’m glad I don’t do that for a living anymore.
I still want that t-shirt. I enjoy this stripe immensly and re-read on a regular basis and still laugh at it.
NotAlwaysRight.com? … That sounds like a great site to check out …
For Walmart, it’s the customer who knows the exact product, brand name, size, and *price* they want to buy, and if you have something that’s a different *size* of JUST A BOTTLE OF WATER but isn’t EXACTLY the thing they want, they’ll pitch a fit.
They won’t just walk out without buying anything. They’ll demand that I have to “look it up” with the standard-issue scanner that only reads bar codes (and if I had the bar code, there would be no problem in the first place), check the back room to see if one of the thousand cardboard boxes back there has some, and talk to my manager, in that order.
Only after repeating this list at LEAST three times will they give up and grumble their way out the door…only to return next week, because Walmart really does have unbeatable price. As it turns out, if your prices are good, you don’t have to do anything else to succeed in retail.
The most annoying ones somehow had an add from previous weeks, clearly marked Closeout Limmited to stock on hand, and start yelling at us about bait and switch.
One of our guys actualy was slapped acoss the face by one of thoes guys. Somehow missed the Harris county deputy talking to me at the register across from him.
