Given that I only have a few hours a week for games now, I think I’m set through about 2015. Blizzard says they’re still shooting for a ’11 release for Diablo 3, but honestly, I wouldn’t be too upset if it got pushed back to early ’12, cause I’m going to play a looooooooot of Diablo 3.
#FirstWorldProblems
Man, I’m only interested in maybe a third of the games on that list, plus a few incidental ones (like the upcoming minecraft patch) and I still feel somewhat overwhelmed by it all. :P
Honestly, I think the only one in the list that I’m interested in is Skyrim. Wouldn’t hurt to have Diablo 3 released later on either.
what about Mass Effect 3?
Thankfully that’s next year. I’m just annoyed they wouldn’t let my lady Shepard get with Tali.
you’re not the only one (crys anime tears)
Skyrim for freeroaming joys,
Batman for sweet, sweet toys.
Deus Ex for disabling alarms,
Saints Row for dealing with arms.
SR3 will tide me over until ME3, Halo CE: Anniversary, Diablo 3 ect ect arrive. woo!
You don’t mean Arkham City? Since arkham asylum is already out :P
I’m really looking forward to that :D
Yeah, I’m a dope, I fixed it.
WOW. I have not played a single game on that list. Heck, I think I’ve only just heard of a few.
i have the last three of that list reserved plus bf3 and sadly i know i will have no time to play them espescially when my buddy moves in
A few months ago while i was at gamestop, they clerk said that diablo was going to be out early november. It might’ve chagned since there wasn’t a public announcement, but the people who are going to actually be selling the game usually get a little heads up about release dates.
Gamestop employees don’t know anything more than what we can all read on game blogs. Blizzard is still saying the game will be out this year but they haven’t given a release date, plus it’s Blizzard so who knows.
As an employee in the industry (who gets told things more directly then my poor semi-comrades at Gamestop) they’re so, so wrong. Expect Diablo 3 and SC2 expansion 1 next year, probably one in each half. It’s annoyingly Blizzard as Diablo 3 has actually been finished for PC for over 6 months, but they are holding off so they don’t clash with either BF3 or MW3 or Skyrim. Also, the rumours that they’re trying to port it over to the 360? Pretty good chance they leaked those truthfully, as the last specs I saw had a microsoft controller hard-coded in.
Yeah D3 has been confirmed for early 2012, most likely Q1. I don’t know about it being on the 360, I don’t think Microsoft would open up Xbox live to battlenet and vice versa. I’ve heard some reasonable speculation it’d show up on the PS3 though. Of course, Blizzard could be dangling their next MMO in front of MS who’d be slavering at the thought of a few million more subscribers. Also I really don’t think that D3 is being held of because they’re scared of Skyrim. That’s going to be a huge game but the whole holiday season is crammed with giant releases like Skyrim and MW3. People in the D3 beta test have reported that the Demon Hunter doesn’t have a smooth feeling unlock progression and some of the classes have a lot more skills than others, so while I imagine most of monsters and AI is done, I’m sure there’s plenty of balancing and testing and maybe some armor and weapon drops left to do.
I’m hyped up on most of those, plus Star Wars The Old Republic is showing up sometime this year (possibly maybe). And there’s also the new Kid Icarus on 3DS. Been waiting for a new Kid Icarus for some 20ish years.
From Dust is fun, but the last mission is a massive bitch to figure out.
Bloodrayne Betrayal *blinks* *quick websearch*
SHE LIVES!
I’ve got Saint’s Row 3 pre-ordered.
Weirdly, I just got a used Gamecube and I’m looking at that library right now.
Me I’m looking forward to Gears of War 3 sept 20th (already paid for mine), City of Arkham, Skyrim, and possibly the next Call of Duty or Battlefield 3.
I’m looking forward to all of these too =\ problem is that i just bought a car so i’m not gonna be able to afford them >_< apart from deus ex which is already paid for.
Tell me how Batman is, I’m not getting to that one for another three years.
I can see you have crossed Deus Ex: HR off the list, what did you think about it.
I’m probably only around half way through it, but to me, it’s fantastic to finally have a game worthy of the first one.
Haven’t beaten it yet, I just crossed it off to indicate it’s out, which is probably unnecessary for anyone who knows what the date is. I’ve only managed to get 10 hours into it, and it’s slow going since I’m the kind of person who can’t leave anything unhacked, I have to do every side mission for XP to unlock all possible praxis points. But it is great. It’s the first game in a long time that really feels like a PC game instead of some console dump.
Kinda feel sorry for the console gamers for Deus Ex: HR. It has a separate engine for PC players to take advantage of DX11.
It is indeed great, especially after the console disaster that was Invisible War.
I’ve been sneaking about, actually did the first mission (The one after you get augmented) 3 times to get the hostages, and Ghost bonus for the entire thing.
Was avoiding killing people. But then I stunned a guy in a sewer and the fool feel into the water and got electrocuted. “Oh well, reload” avoided it, then I snapped some guys neck when I was knocking down a wall. I went MEH, and started killing left and right :)
Console gamers are kinda lucky cause they can actually buy a physical copy of the game atm. Just found out after a week of searching that the pc disks were recalled (at gamestop at least) or sold out.
You ought to try out Bastion, either on steam or Xbox. It’s already out and didn’t have a big, huge mess surrounding its PC release like From Dust.
Woaw, nice list.
I planned to play at least on Deus Ex, Dead Island, Wh 40K, Batman and Skyrim. And i hope for the beta of Diablo III planned for september. My old friend King Leoric is back in the beta, and i miss him a lot since Diablo 1.
geez had to go through half of that list before finding a game i would even consider playing……3 of 12 is a bit more managable. man am i glad that i hate shooters as much as i do.
my list is:
warhammer 40k:sm
batman arkham city (maybe)
skyrim
having heard of the rest of them and gotten to see all the huge hype done in (sellout) vidgame magazines i have no interest in even trying them…..well deus ex might appear for me if i get really really bored and, find it used at some point
What about Dark Souls?
That’s not really my type of game. I’m a PC gamer and console only stuff usually gets missed by me. If that game came out when I was in high school (when PCs sucked for gaming and consoles were where it was at) then maybe it’d be a different story but I’m set in my ways now. Oh dear now you all know how old I am.
Picked up “Dead Island” when it came out (on PC). Unfortunately, haven’t had as much time to play as I would’ve liked. I’ve picked up the key card from the life guard’s bungalow and made it back to the beach shack. So far I like it though … except for one thing. You can’t save your progress. Well, not exactly anyway. I mean, in every other game that is anything like this, you can save the game and it will put you right back where you were when you saved. In D.I., it just saves when you exit the game, and it puts you back to some apparently “safe” place. Which means you lose your travel time. The good thing is that you do get to keep all the stuff you picked up along the way.
I’m not a gamer. (It eats up too much time.) For if I was it would be Resident Evil. So I go to the movies instead and read some of the novels.
You are right DaveB Sydney is on the verge of an apoplectic fit. It would be interesting to see those discarded pages to see just how different Sydney is in them. I know how characters can stay in your mind forming personalities then being able to write them as they are and how they act with others. Like they are real. Amazing what the human mind can do isn’t it DaveB?
Hey, i’m not sure if this site is cheaper, but Alason Acton, athour of Bear Nuts, uses threadless.com for her t-shirt designs. If that helps.
Oh, and how did you like Warhammer 40k?
I really enjoyed WH40K:SM. So much so that I bought some WH40K Novels.
When you start playing Skyrim, you will have to force yourself away from your computer(or console if that is your game system) just to get a comic done. Skyrim is very addicting
I’ve already sunk 60 hours into it. :P So far for my trouble I have a 1 hander/destruction Nord who is pretty good with a bow, lockpicking and sneaking. Going to try and get my smithing up so I can at least enhance my magic gear a little – and my enchanting. :P
nice, I have gone for a High Elf, focusing on destruction/conjuration(I love the Flame Atronach), and using a sword and shield combo when I am out of magicka. I rarely sneak, but am working on my enchanting/light armor. you have me beat in hours played, but you have probably had the game longer.
